Have file with all parts/restoration over past 5 years. Over 22k into her (not including Labor!) Minimal rust. Original Toyota parts, clear perfect glass. 3 on the floor with a 1973 1F 155 for 20% more horsepower. New wheel bearings, brakes, radiator, starter, clutch fluid, transmission oil, transfer case oil, New quick release door hinges in box. Bolts replaced with stainless, powder coated hinges. Many parts convey with sale. I had planned to do the following: Front wheel bearings, repair a small area in exhaust, shackles, new plugs, carb adjust, valves, replace temp gauge, steering/alignment.The Good:1. New Aluminum radiator2. New Alternator3. New Starter4. New Locker and bearings in rear5. All brake components and MC replaced except brake lines6. New Clutch slave cylinder7. Carb rebuilt8. New Thermostat and housing9. All fluids replaced. All of them.10. New Coil, spark plugs, wires11. New Fox Shocks12. All electrical either replaced w factory or refurbished and working13. Too many parts powder-coated to mention like the windshield frame, hinges, grill screen14. Fiberglass top refurbished with a thickened edge by a boat yard and fresh painted.15. All clear toyota glass around16. Lots of New rubber weather stripping17. New toyota hoses and belt18. Seat belts front and rear19. New Tires and rims that look factory but are wider20. New bolts all around (mostly stainless). I’ve backed out every bolt I can get to and replaced it with a new one so you won’t have to deal with all the broken bolts like I did. 21. Steering is pretty darn tight considering age22. The body is painted with plastidip. It is only supposed to last a few years but it is holding up very well. You can redo the whole thing in a weekend. If you scratch it on the trail, you can easily peel off a section and spray it again. I think it is the perfect product for people who off-road and it looks fantastic with the mat finish. The Bad:1. very tiny oil leak at rear main seal that drips about one drop per year2. The engine sputters if/when you floor it but it will still speed up to 70 on a freeway on-ramp.3. It runs really hot When it is 95 degrees outside and you drive over 55mph at high RPM for a long time. I have driven it up to 150 miles at high speed and it never overheated but it seemed to come close. I put in a new aluminum radiator and thermostat and it helped a little. It does not run hot when off-roading or driving around at medium speeds.4. The heater parts are all in a box. I never messed with them.5. Bent corner of rear cross member6. Two of the gauges (fuel, temp) need a better grounding wire because they often flicker off.7. No spare tire8. Needs front driver side brake master slaveThe Ugly1. rust in rear sill area under barn doors2. One rust spot on tub under passenger door3. One rust spot on floor between rear seats.4. A few minor dents on the hood and one on the bezel.5. The inside of the tub has surface rust but I like it that way.6. The only major rust is under jump seat on passenger side (photo included) Undercarriage is patina.
