1977 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40

This1977 Toyota Land Cruiserwas purchased from Venezuela two years ago, subsequently had a body-off refurbishment performed before importing it to the US. The project included a repaint in tan over a gray vinyl interior as well as installation of a canvas soft top, and the truck is powered by a 4.2-liter 2F inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a two-speed transfer case. This FJ40 is offered in New Jersey with refurbishment photos, import documents, and a clean New Jersey title in the seller’s name.The body was removed from the frame and refinished in tan during the refurbishment in Venezuela. Exterior features include full doors, factory-style badging, and a black canvas soft top with plastic windows. The condition of the paintwork and trim is shown up close in the gallery below.All five steel wheels are finished in white and wear stock hubcaps as well as Firestone Super All Traction ND tires. Warn manually-locking hubs are equipped up front, and the truck is fitted with four-wheel drum brakes refurbished.The interior is trimmed in grey vinyl with twin bucket seats up front and inward-facing “troopy” benches in the rear. Black vinyl mats cover the floors, the condition of which are shown in the gallery.Instrumentation includes a five-digit odometer showing 5 miles. Total mileage is unknown. A period radio is mounted in the dash.The carbureted 4.2-liter 2F inline-six was removed during the refurbishment and serviced. It was a very careful job and restoration, it took about a year to finish it. All its screws and parts were removed and galvanized.
