Very unique vehicle for sale that gets tons of compliments and questions when you pull up to the diesel pump! Started out as a 1991 Toyota 4x4 4runner that was from the south with a completely rust free body. Was professionally undercoated and rust proofed when close to new and it shows! 11 years ago, it was professionally converted to a diesel by a Mercedes import shop. An OM603 straight 6cyl Turbo diesel out of a 87 Mercedes was used that has 147hp and 267 ft lbs of torque. Rebuilt Toyota W-56 5 speed with Toyota transfer case. New clutch, AGM battery, brakes, belts, hoses, etc. The conversion took over 400 hours of shop time and was done very nicely with the goal of keeping things as professional as possible. Again, this swap was done 11 years ago and the truck has been running and driving ever since. Could easily be a daily driver or just a weekend cruiser/play toy. It has a lot more power than stock and easily merges onto freeway speeds. Just set the cruise and forget about it. It has no trouble holding 70 + mph going up and down hills. Doesn't burn oil, doesn't leave any drops or puddles underneath either! Has a rebuilt injection pump, all new seals and gaskets. Fully functional Toyota OEM Hilux snorkel running into a K&N filter. Looks cool and functions well to keep EGT's down and clean air flowing in.
It has a Rough Country 5" suspension lift with new shocks, 4.88 gears with Detroit lockers front/back, and Warn front manual lock out hubs. 33 x 10.5 x 15 BFG Mud Terrain tires all in excellent condition including the spare! It's never been in mud, snow, or ice. It was built to be a fully functional daily driver but also perform if need be. Have all the original gears and suspension too if you wanted to take it back to more of a stock ride height and gearing. Also have spare filters and belts to go along with it. With the 4.88's it does surprisingly well on the highway. Front bumper and grille guard with a Warn 8000lb winch that works well!
The body is in very good condition with no rust. It's the original paint so there's some clear coat fade as well as touch ups around but it still shines up nicely. The undercarriage is extremely clean and is still all black from the old rustproofing that was done decades ago. Has a JVC am/fm/cd stereo with cd player as well as an overhead 40 channel CB. 2 way paging alarm with keyless entry and display remote also. LED, HID lights, plus fog lights, and front/rear light bars. The interior could use a good shampoo but the seats and carpets aren't all torn up.
Everything works on this including all the gauges, power steering, tilt, cruise, and AC! Yes, the cruise and AC work and work great! Most diesel conversions never figure out the tach/speedometer or the cruise and AC. This was all integrated to be a seamless as possible. Has EGT, Boost, and oil pressure gauges in the pillar pod that all also work great. Has a glow plug with relay as well as a high idle switch that integrate with the Mercedes controls. Speedometer is programmed accurately for the tire size too! Clear title in hand.
This truck is ready to go and could easily fly in and drive home if need be. I'm pretty easy to work with.
