Description:

1985 Toyota Celica GT

Note: this car is currently my daily driver, but has some issues that should be addressed. I've owned it since May 2017 and put a little over 11k miles on it since then. See bottom of the post for delivery/shipping options
This is a beautiful "survivor" Celica of the last generation of rear-wheel-drive Celicas. It's in great condition for its age, well maintained, and about 99% rust-free, a rarity for old Japanese cars. I've driven it Sacramento - San Jose with no issues. Clean title in hand, registered until April 2019. The interior and exterior are in great condition and I have a lot of maintenance records showing mileage increasing over the years. It has 99k miles (going to roll over to 100k today) because it was owned by an older lady until 2016. The head gasket and timing belt were done in 2014. New battery in 2016. This car is my daily driver but deserves a home where it can be kept indoors and out of the elements. It's one of the few not-rusty vintage Japanese sports cars out there and it would be nice for it to stay that way. The electronics - power locks, windows, cruise control, A/C, etc - work great. It gets about 24 city/29 highway mpg. New Goodyear tires at 83k miles.
Recent maintenance (since I bought it):
- new air filter
- new spark plugs
- new differential fluid (gear oil)
- new thermostat- new starter- regular oil changes

Known problems:- power mirrors don't work, a common problem with these cars. The motors run, but the gears that move the motors don't engage- slow transmission fluid leak from the pan.- it's burning oil. I suspect the valve seals, a pretty common issue in 22re engines. It is getting worse, I have to add 3+ quarts between oil changes. This is the biggest problem with the car.- very slow power steering fluid leak. I've added maybe 2-3 oz over the last 11k miles- very minor cosmetic scratches and issues from age and sun
Issues aside, I'm confident enough in the car that I'm willing to drive it to you if you live within 1000 miles of Sacramento, CA and are willing to pay 50 cents per mile of distance to cover gas and a bus/train ticket home. So a 100 mile delivery would be $50, 500 miles would cost $250, etc. Any further than 1000 miles and you'll have to arrange shipping yourself or come pick it up in Sacramento.
