Description:

1976 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40

Over $39,000 invested in this very original 1976 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. HARD TOP, AMBULANCE DOORS, FRONT DOORS HAVE NEVER BEEN OFF THE VEHICLE!!! This is not imported from South America. This was purchased on 5/19/1976 from Napier Auto in Roseburg, Oregon for use on a ranch, primarily to "go get the mail" down their 1/4 mile driveway.
It stayed in the original owner's family until it was sold to another Land Cruiser guy in Oregon. From there, it was sold to a collector and spent a year in a warehouse in Iowa before I brought it to S. Georgia. It was never titled in IA as the collector moved on to other projects. It's been garage-kept it's entire life and rarely driven in the rain--AND IT SHOWS!
Original Rustic Green paint shows some patina on the hood and the original owner used some touch-up paint to fix a few scratches. The touch-up paint is a shade off, but I think removing it would ruin the originality and personality of the truck. All body panels are 100% solid, original, and rust-free!
The originality of this truck cannot be overstated. Here are some highlights: Original [working] AM radio. Original headlights. Original exhaust. Original rear seats (including straps--very rare to have these in such excellent condition). Original springs (included but not installed). Original floor mats, dash, front seat backs, pedal pads, jack, tool bag, owner's manual. All original sheet metal, smog equipment (except smog pump). Original miles (49,069!)VERY RARE ORIGINAL PTO WINCH AND ORIGINAL DEALER-INSTALLED FUEL TANK!!!
Almost everything is original on the truck with the following exceptions:-Gas tank was replaced with OEM Toyota tank.-Soft fuel lines were replaced with high-quality line rated for fuel injection.-Fuel filter and air filter were replaced with OEM Toyota parts.-Rear tail lights were replaced with OEM Toyota units.-Front and rear bumpers were replaced with OEM Toyota units using OEM Toyota bolts. Original bumpers were saved and are included in the sale.-Suspension was replaced with Old Man EMU 2.5" lift. Original springs included in sale!-Wheels were replaced with Japanese-made replica 16" 5.5" wide wheels with brand-new BFG A/T KO2's (LT235/85 R16). These wheels accept the original hub caps (which are included but I didn't put them on prior to taking pictures).-Clutch master cylinder and alternator were replaced with Toyota OEM parts by the original owner.-Front seat bottom covers were replaced by previous owner. Backs are still original.
The following items are original, but re-finished:-License plate holder (powder coated semi-gloss black)-Seat brackets (powder coated semi-gloss black)-Center console (powder coated to match glove box door)-Fuel filler tube cover (powder coated to match glove box door)-Air filter housing (painted semi-gloss black and re-production sticker applied).-Spare tire carrier was stripped and repainted factory original color.-Several brackets in engine bay have been re-plated in correct yellow cad.-I cleaned up the passenger and driver floors while removing/replacing the gas tank, and while I had it apart, I took the time to remove some surface rust and spray with factory original color paint.
Mechanically, the truck is VERY solid. Cross-hatching is still visible in cylinders. Compression numbers are as follows:1: 147#2: 146#3: 147#4: 148#5: 142#6: 150#
Truck shifts and accelerates smoothly, starts easily with the choke, all switches and gauges work, including the EGR light (correctly illuminates during start), brake light, driver side interior light on hard top. Mileage is correct. Engine has been tuned up, timing checked, carb adjusted. You can drive it all day and get out without smelling like an old car!
Needs rear ambulance door weather stripping and some surface rust has accumulated on the bottom of the right ambulance door, which I attempted to capture in a picture. The bottom of the vehicle is rust-free and still has the original dealer-installed under coat.
I have a lot more pictures and videos and I'm willing to take whatever else you may need to make an informed decision. This truck is OUTSTANDING and I have enjoyed it, but it's time to move on and get this in the hands of someone who can appreciate it's originality and ensure it stays as original as it currently sits!
Finally, I have a bin of spare parts that is also included. It includes hundreds of dollars worth of original OEM Toyota bolts/fasteners/clamps, a new, unused Aisin clutch master, some replica stickers/decals, etc.
Finally, I have original Toyota-printed maintenance manuals that are not included in the sale, but can be if you are interested. PM me to negotiate a fair price.
Please bid with confidence. Title is clear. I have nothing to hide with this truck, and I'm willing to answer any questions you may have. Thanks, and good luck!

I apologize, but when I re-listed the truck, I forgot to remove "no reserve" from the title.
