Description:

1989 Toyota Land Cruiser

Great running FJ62 with LOW MILES, 131,000. The interior is near-flawless. I bought this truck at 121,000 miles a few years ago and have given it a lot of love ($$) that will help this Land Cruiser go for a very long time. I've taken it on a half-dozen 1,000mi road trips. Such a fun vehicle to own and drive. It has some rust issues (described below) and a fuel leak at the gas tank around 3/4 tank (described below). I'd intended to own this forever, but can't bring myself to drive it during our 6 month MN winters (they salt the roads here). I'd love to see it go to a dryer climate. I can Skype orFaceTime any interested buyers. Please contact me througheBay if desired. I also have a few videos showing theundercarriage, engine and a walk-around with some close-ups. Again, contact me through eBay if you're interested in viewing those.

- 4x4, AC, Heat (including rear heater) all work
- Thule aero bar roof racks
- Starts, runs, drives, accelerates great
- Tow hitch and wiring
- Power windows and locks all work, though the 2 back door locks are slow at times and need help
- Receipts for over $10k in parts and labor in the last 8k miles covering the following:
DONE:
Exhaust from the cat, back
New battery
New/rebuilt front end done by Toyota in Golden Valley (all Toyota parts), including:
- front Axel rebuilt (birfield joints, seals, etc)
- new steering rod relays, relay ends
- new steering dampner
New rear brakes (drums)
Replaced rear cylinder seals
Replaced rear Axel seals
Replaced both rear brake lines
New Radiator and all hoses and hard lines
New thermostat
New front calipers and brake pads
Installed Old Man Emu Medium suspension with 2.5" lift, including:
- Front and rear leaf springs, u-bolts, bushings, shackles
- Front and rear shocks
- I have and will include the OME steering dampner, I did not install as Toyota had just replaced it 6 months before I installed this kit
New front sway bar links (from MAN-A-FRE)
Alignment, post- suspension install
New Transmission pan gasket
New JVC touch-screen, bluetooth-enabled, DVD deck (I have the working original deck to go with the truck)
New Focal speakers (ISC 130 in front, ISC 165 in rear) (I have the original speakers, if wanted, a couple of them were blown)
Replaced fuel hard lines
New gas cap (Toyota)
I have parts for the following, just haven't gotten around to it or I've been saving them for the next time it makes sense to install. I'll include them as well (if wanted)...
- Rear sway bar links (from MAN-A-FRE)
- stainless-steel, braded brake lines for front and rear (from MAN-A-FRE)
- Front rotors (Toyota)
- 6 x spark plug wires (Toyota)
- 6 x spark plugs
Issues I'll let the next owner decide on:
- Gas tank has a leak toward the top of the tank. I had been trying to decide whether to replace with Toyota replacement or go with the MAN-A-FRE 40gal. In the meantime, I've continued to drive, just kept the fuel level at or below 1/2 tank. I'll let the next owner decide on this one.
- Emergency brake doesn't work
- Original cruise control installed, does not work (Most FJ62's don't have CC at all)
- Several areas with rust concerns, primarily around the wheel wells. Frame and axels have surface rust
- I repaired several other rust areas in Dec-Jan of 2016, but painted them myself. The paint color is a close match but the finish isn't as close. It looks fine from normal viewing distance, but if you look closer you can tell.
