Rare 1985 Toyota SR5 4Runner inter-cooled turbo diesel

1985 Toyota 4Runner

Absolutely beautiful & very rare/original example of a 1985 Toyota SR5 4Runner. I bought it about 20 years ago from the "dry" desert area of Riverside California & it has lived indoors in California the majority of it's life.
This rare SR5 4Runner is still with it's original paint & just look how beautiful the original paint is on the floors of the truck.
I have not detailed the underside of the truck as I wanted to show it how it looks after 31 years of service. I would however do some detailing there as then the underside would look as nice as the topside.
This was the last year of the straight solid front axle AND the first rear of fuel injection. HOWEVER I removed the 22RE a few years ago & installed a smooth running rebuilt (15,000 miles) Toyota 2L-T (turbo diesel) from a 1986 Hilux pickup. The 2L-T's were available as an option only for sale in the US between 1985 thru 1987, this is a North American power plant NOT a Japanese Imported engine.
I kept the original painted hood intact as I could not bring myself to cutting it for the hood scoop for the Mustang 5.0 inter-cooler.
Has a 2.5 inch exhaust system from the turbo all the way back & sure sounds sweet & turns a lot of heads.
It came with factory power windows, cruise control, electric antenna, inclinometer, rear heater & a/c.
The a/c compressor is not currently hooked up as I recently found & purchased an original 2L-T a/c compressor & bracket as the original a/c comp/bracket that came with the 22re does not mount on the 2L-T engine.
The truck runs, drives & stops beautifully smooth & straight down the road. The suspension is all by name"> stock with KYB Gas Adjust shocks front & rear, stock chrome SR5 wheels & tires & it has never been driven recklessly on or off road.
The very last picture shows how it looked when I first purchased it years ago before I removed all the factory graphics.
