1970 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ55

Price: - Item location: Gulfport, Mississippi, United States
Description:

1970 Toyota Land Cruiser

Im selling my 1970 FJ55 with the original 3.9L F engine and 4 speed manual.
I purchased the LC 5 months ago from a Land Cruiser forum member in hopes of completing an LS swap. Unfortunately, the shop that I had the work farmed out too was unable to get the work done and I don't have the time to do both a mechanical and cosmetic restore. I got too good of a deal on a 73 FJ40 (tow vehicle) and an Austin Mini Cooper (track car) so I'm looking to recoup the money spent on this FJ.
In the past 4 years I've owned and restored a 1974 FJ40 w/SBC, 1969 Ford Bronco, 1985 Mercedes Gelandewagen w/OM603 diesel and 5 speed, and a 1985 Toyota FJ60. Im pretty familiar with the Land Cruiser realm and what things are worth and this is a great example of either a Daily Driver or restoration Candidate.
The previous owner used this 55 as his daily and had a few things done:
Rebuilt carburetor
Front seats from a 2000's Acura TSX. Leather, heated and elect. adjustable.
Drivers side installed.
Shoulder seat belts
Passenger side ready for install.
Rear seat-original bench that folds flat for cargo space.
Reupholstered to match front seats.
15" rims with newer BF Goodrich 31x10.5x15 tires
Spare
Front disc rear drum brakes
Custom front and rear bumper
Gauges all work but the speedo is off by 10mph
Rear window does not work but probably just need wiring checked or worm gear cleaned up
In terms of a restoration candidate this is a really great example. Take a look at past sales here on eBAY, on Craigslist, and LC forums and see what people are trying to get for their rigs in similar if not worse off condition. It does have the rust issues that all PIGS suffer from such as in the lower fenders front and rear and rain gutter but on a minimal scale.
If I get my asking price I will include a newly reupholstered interior set:
Front door panels
Rear door panels
Cargo panels
Kick panels
and "B" pillar panels
Set is made by a LC forum member and also sells here on eBAY.
The roof rack pictured is not included, had to remove it due to the transport company wanting to charge me extra for XL cargo. If you have additional questions or would like photos of specific areas feel free to leave me a message.
Thanks!
