Description:

1951 Studebaker Commander

Nice car, o major body damage, couple of paint issues, uch as paint chipped in a few places. The paint looks like primer almost but is dark green in places and still has a modified (dull)shine.Chrome is in good condition with plenty of shine. It is a pretty car with all the windows in one piece. Has fog lights, nd runs well with plenty of power. I did like driving aroundin it, ut I am not a spring chicken and I think it should now go to someone who can give it more attention. The interior is red leather type material in very nice condition. Back in the dayof drive-ins with the outside speakers and kids sneaking their friends in hiding in the trunk, ell this car would have been a drive-in sneakers dream. The back seat has been removed, replaced with the red leather type material curtain separating the trunk and where the back seat would have been. I do not have the seat, got it as is. I think you will be able to seein the attached photos. Tags are not current since 2009. The body is straight and the trunk is clean. This exceptional automobile can be driven right after the oil is changed, he gas tanfilled and the transmission fluid filled. There are no oil, ransmission or water leaks. If anyone would like additional information, lease let me know. I would require a $2,000.00non-refundable deposit at end of auction and will help however I can in transporting the car to it's destination. The buyer will be responsible for transporting costs. Final payment in theform of cash upon pickup of car, r bank payment through Paypal

Since I listed this car, have learned that it is a Business Coupe, ever had a back seat. I listed the VIN wrong. It is G905197 not 6905197. At this time that is all, ut thanks to the helpfulpeople looking at my listing,I can be more accurate in my information.

Well folks, ere I am again with more information. I guess my Commander started out as a Champion, hen it was modified to a Commander, hich makes it a 1951 Studebaker Champion/Commander Land Cruiserwhich is on the inside dash in chrome. It sure looks like a Commander, ut as there was only one made, guessthis is not the one. It was featured in Automobile Quarterly and we bought it from the award winningauthor Tim Walker. I am sorry that it is not THE Commander, ut it still is a VERY nice car. Having said all that, nbsp;I did want to make it clear so people would not think I was trying to sell it as something it is not. but it still saysCommander in shiny chrome on the hood.
