This is a project, not complete. The engine fires up and runs smoothly. The following items are included as photographed. Fabricated 304 stainless steel frame with large X-member for rigidity. Welding is TIG, with back gassing of tubing. This is a work of art, come see it. Written up in Avanti Magazine. Viper Dana HD differential, changed from 3.07 gears to 3.54 ratio, set up by Intrax. Installed WS6 LS1 motor with T-56 Tremec transmission. Motor assembly set back approximately 10 inches. Mounted modified Mustang shifter arm backwards, to move shifter 3 inches forward and towards the driver. Utilizing a Walbro GSL392 inline pump with a Corvette FPR. Aluminum radiator with a GM electric fan and shroud, assembly laid back 25 degrees. Installed WS6 power steering cooler in upper cooling hose. LS7 air intake filter assembly has been adapted to the LS1, and installed in a cold air box. Installed stainless LS7 exhaust headers with fabricated tapered collectors to 2 1/2 diameter, Stainless flex couplings to flow to hidden side pipes. Utilized 2 3/4 inch diameter chambered stainless side pipes hidden under rocker panel with turn outs in front of rear wheels. Unique stainless silicon isolation mounts, another work of art. Installed smaller pulley on power steering pump, and relocated it for frame clearance. Fabricated new brackets to place CS130 alternator very low on passenger side of engine. Running on 4V serpentine belt, formerly for AC pump. GTO fuel rail covers modified to accept Studebaker Script. Suspension Modifications:Front Suspension: Fabricated stainless front cradle, Corvette C4 front suspension narrowed 3 inches, coil over shocks. Power Steering: ZF rack and pinion (rolled back 40 degrees) with Delphi Type II pump. Added a remote power steering reservoir on inner fender with cooler underneath oil pan. Rear Suspension: Corvette C4 rear suspension narrowed 4 inches and adapted to Viper differential, stainless camber bars with heims, tie rods with heims, coil over shocks. Brakes: Corvette C5 dual piston calipers with 13 inch rotors, both front and rear. Vacuum booster removed, hydroboost installed. Wheels/Tires Modifications:Front: 235/50/17 Kumho ASX on 17 x 8 1/2 Corvette Magnesium wheels Rear: 255/45/18 Kumho ASX on 18 x 9 1/2 Corvette Magnesium wheels. Interior/Exterior Modifications:Went from a four seater to a two seater vehicle. Eliminated floor console. Dash has been moved rearward 5 inches. Made new dash panel overlay, eliminated key switch from dash. Installed tilt steering column. Installed Corvette C5 swing pedal assembly for brake and clutch pedals. Eliminated hog troughs with new body mounts, fabricated stainless chambered side pipes under rocker panels. These chambered side pipes are similar to the optional chambered exhaust GM offered in 1969. Eliminated fiberglass shackle boxes, spare tire well. Moved the battery to under the car, where the rear seat was, mounted flush to the bottom of frame. Fabricated a fused electrical distribution panel where rear seat was, with a powered battery disconnect. Installed Bussmann fuse panels in the sides of the dash. VDO gauges. Dash is removable. Additional used items included : All glass for doors and windows. All fiberglass doors, hood, and trunk lid. An additional Avanti II body shell (dark gray, in the pasture) is included with the body shown on the frame. Mileage is unknown. SN is 63R3219 .
