Description:
1963 Studebaker Gran
1963 Studebaker Gran Turismo Hawk, only 4634 were made of those only 369 had this R1 Avanti engine from the factory, it also has Automatic transmission, Power disc brakes (first American car to have disc brakes), Power steering, Air conditioning, optional Black & White seats, Tinted glass all windows, Undercoating, Twin traction (331 posi), Raido, Aero-strut AC-3280 hub caps, Rear deck antenna. This could be the only one like it ever made and now 56 years later do you think you will find another, I don't think so. This car sold new in Chillicothe Missouri and it stayed in this small town all of its life until I bought it and moved it to Arizona. The previous owner said the engine had been rebuilt about 5000 miles ago. I removed the spark plugs and did a compression test and it was 155psi in all cylinders, very good. I removed the valve covers to adjust the valves and the inside of the engine was very clean. I have no paper work on the engine rebuild but from what I see I believe it was rebuilt as he said. He also told me he had done a brake job and I have the paperwork on that. He even had the brake booster rebuilt. He also replaced the exhaust system. I have replaced the spark plugs & wires, distributor & points cap & rotor, coil and installed a new carburetor. I also had the starter rebuilt. The engine oil and filter have just been done. I had the seats upholstery done and the carpet & the cardboard and carpet on the doors. The car runs very good and has a lot of power and is easy to drive. The paint looks better in the pictures then it does in person. The AC works but has a Freon leak, the heater not working, clock & tach not working. Radio speaker missing. The car is sold as is. I will do what I car to help with transportation. Please ask if you have any questions. I am selling to finish my other projects. Thanks and good luck, $1000.00 deposit by PayPal at the end of auction. The balance by bank transfer or cash in person. On Jun-21-19 at 13:19:00 PDT, seller added the following information:
