1957 STUDEBAKER SILVER HAWK - SHOW QUALITY RESTORATION 289cid V8 AMONG THE BEST!

  • ICONIC 1950s STYLING...ONE OF THE BEST OF ITS ERA
  • DELUXE REBUILT STUDEBAKER 289cid ENGINE
  • VERY HIGH QUALITY PAINT AND BODYWORK
  • A JOY TO DRIVE - with Power Steering & Automatic Transmission!
  • HANDSOME BLUE/WHITE THEME THROUGHOUT
  • AUTHENTIC PERIOD-CORRECT WHITEWALLS
  • EXCELLENT ATTENTION TO DETAIL (see close-ups!)
BACKGROUND: The Studebaker Hawks have a huge and enthusiastic following. In some ways, they actually beat Ford's Thunderbird to the family "Personal Car" form factor. The Hawk was plenty sporty for Dad, and had room for the kids in back. This car was lovingly restored to a high standard. Many photographs document the thorough body restoration - with all fenders removed. Corrosion - where it was found - was cut out completely, with new metal welded in or replacement panels installed. The result is a well-finished and rock-solid classic that drops jaws wherever it goes. Few people know exactly what it is, or when it was built, but they DO know it is very cool!
There's a certain indefinable celebrity status that you feel everywhere you go. A $100,000 Mercedes will often go by with barely a notice...but no one seems to miss the Silver Hawk!

PERFECT TO "DRIVE & SHOW"...this is one of those perfectly positioned classics that you can be proud to take to ANY show...and that is also practical to drive and enjoy! Quality and attention abound. Paint, body, and interior work are very impressive. The bright-work is a convincing combination of very good re-chromed and polished trim, with some pieces exhibiting a good finish with the normal patina of age and use. Few engine compartments of this vintage are as impressively clean and authentic.

LOCATION: Evans, GA ...approx. 141 miles east of Atlanta (near Augusta, GA

EXCELLENT INVESTMENT - the best cars of the 1950s have been "Blue Chip" investments for decades, and will continue to be. The 1957 Studebaker Silver Hawk is already considered one of the best 1950s designs...and future appreciation seems assured. While 1950s Corvette's and luxury coupes are already out of reach - the Silver Hawk is one of the best buys of the era.

THE FIRST 23 PICTURES will give you a general overview of the Hawk, but if you are seriously interested...we suggest that you look at ALL 100+ images because we want you to see EVERYTHING.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING...TO SEE ALL THE IMAGES: There are over 100 images that will show the car in great detail. BUT, to see ALL of the images, you MUST place your cursor DIRECTLY ON an image...and then scroll gently ALL the way to the bottom (be sure to allow time for all the images to load). CAUTION: If you use the scroll bar to the FAR right of your screen - OR, the "" feature - you will NOT be able to see all the images!
Over 2,700 TRANSACTIONS WITH HAPPY PEOPLE! As of the date of this listing, we've had over 2,700 transactions (both Buying and Selling) on eBay without a single complaint. One of the keys to our success is to show larger and more images than almost any other eBay listing...so you can clearly see what you are getting. We also give a very detailed description of the car...not just a couple sentences like many listings.
QUESTIONS?...after reviewing ALL the images and reading the entire description, please call Jim Murphy if you have any questions: 706-429-7924

OPERATIONAL REPORT: Owing to the very extensive and detailed restoration, the car is an absolute joy to drive - especially with its power steering and automatic transmission. EVERYTHING we tested during the photo-session - all lights, directionals, horn, heater, etc. - worked great...EXCEPT the radio. The windows roll up and down with exceptional ease due to nicely restored gearing and tracks.

Special Note...
  • For the first time, I noticed the beginning of some water pump noise during the photo-session test drive. If the buyer would like the water pump replaced before pick-up (a recommended precaution) it will be done for the new owner at a cost of $275.

ODOMETER NOTE...the 79,683 mileage indicated is believed to be original, but cannot be determined as accurate with certainty due to the odometer's design limitations. Odometer mileage - in the case of this car - is largely irrelevant due to the thorough restoration of the car, including a rebuilt 289 cid engine.

PAYMENT DETAILS: Payment is due within 2- business days of auction's end via Bank to Bank wire transfer.

INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS are welcome, but MUST adhere to the SAME Payment Terms detailed above and also make all arrangements for the pick-up and importation of the Vehicle into the Buyer's country. We will store the car free of charge for a reasonable period of time while transportation and shipment of the Vehicle is arranged.
ABOUT ME: I am an avid Classic Car enthusiast. After retiring from 30 years of Sales & Marketing in a Global 100 company, I began buying and selling Classic Cars and Collectibles as a collector and for friends and clients. This Silver Hawk belongs to a friend and fellow classic car enthusiast.
Please Note: as of this date, we have had over 2,700 eBay transactions with 100% Positive Feedback...this includes the sale of many Classic Cars to Buyers all over the world, including Great Britain, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Australia, Russia, Canada, Japan and throughout the United States.
IMPORTANT FINAL REMARKS: . A Notarized Bill of Sale and the Vehicle Registration will be provided to the Buyer. NOTE: the State of Georgia did not issue auto titles back in 1957 - and so they do not do so for those cars even today! Instead, the registration card has a "Non-Title" notation and also serves as the owners legal proof of ownership. Rest assured that every state must respect all other states' motor vehicle laws, and that the car can be successfully registered and insured in any state.

This Vehicle is sold strictly as-shown and on a final as-is basis without any warranties expressed or implied due to age. Even the very best restored classics - such as this one - will require additional maintenance and service - often without warning. We have presented the car accurately to the best of our ability, but oversights are possible. Therefore - before the auction's end - bidders are welcome to examine the vehicle in person. All sales are final.

Please be sure to review ALL the images and ALL the captions because they relate important information too!
