Off the top this is not an AC Cobra or Shelby Cobra but an Aurora.Have you ever heard of areplica with factory air conditioning, a door buzzer, power antenna, and power trunk release? How about a Cobra that is EPA and DOT compliant in ALL 50 states? Only one manufacturer held that distinction at the time. Thesecars were sold through Ford dealerships. The engines were shipped to Holman and Moody in North Carolina for tuning before installation at the Aurora factory.
Aurora manufactured replicas of the 1964 AC Cobra in exacting detail, delivering between 157-170 cars. With 450 man hours in each car, the Aurora was uniquely manufactured in many ways.
With dual plane tubular space frame, four wheel independent suspension and disc brakes (inboard rear for less unsprung weight), Salisbury (Jaguar) differential, luxurious Connolly leather interior, Smiths gauges, five layers of wet sanded acrylic lacquer and even air conditioning, the Aurora had no equal.
It was the only Cobra subjected to the rigors of US DOT specifications and trials and EPA compliance. In 1983 this meant crash testing, elaborate emissions suppression, 5-mph bumpers, side marker lights, steel reinforced doors and much more. Every Aurora was delivered street legal in 50 states, an achievement unique to Aurora Cars Limited at the time.

The car is equipped with a heater and AC but the AC is not working, have not looked at why but planned on removing it anyway. There is quite a bit of information on the internet about these carsif you wantadditional technical information. I want to stress it is an unrestored original 35 year old car that has been looked after but is not a new build.

-5.0 Ford HO, 5 speed manual transmission, Salisbury (Jaguar) rear end with inboard disc brakes.

-16 inch Daytonwire wheels(new) with 205 Pirelli tires. The wheels are new and are true knock offs with spinners.

-Roof, tonneau cover (new), side windows with factory storage cas, wind wings etc. all excellent

-door panels and dash are leather covered

-power antenna

-Roll bar is removable, all the chrome is in great condition, windshield was replaced 10 years ago

-Alpine stereo with remote

-engine compartment all lined in riveted aluminumas is therear side of hood

-carpeted trunk with remote lock

-body is fiberglass

-body wassplashed from an original early AC Cobra

-as clean underneath as on top

-car has been thoroughly serviced including new ignition, plugs, wires, cap, carb rebuilt, filters, brake fluid flush, cooling flush, brakes doneetc.

-fuel gauge not registering which probably means a float since the car was in heated indoor storage with tank drained for past 7 years

-will provide either the original Prototipo or replica wood wheel

-this is not a kit car andany specific questions on chassis etc I can answer, I have had 4 of these over the years as well as several other "kits" but keep coming back to these as the build quality is amazing and they are fast tight cars. The car wasdesigned to be an update of the original car that would meet all federal requirementslike any other car from GM, Ford etc were required to meet, whichit did.

-first owner had it 25 years (as well as an original AC), second for 6 yearsin heated storage the entiretime.
