Description:

1966 Shelby Cobra 427 cobra

I won this car in December, 2010 in the International Motor Racing Research Center (Watkins Glen) annual car raffle. The following is taken from their August, 2010 newsletter: "This year's car is powered by an original Ford 427FE engine with two four-barrel carter carburetors, has a Ford T&C 10 bolt 4-speed transmission and a Ford 9-inch posi-traction differential with a 3.73 final drive. It is equipped with 16-inch Halibrand racing stylealloy wheels with 235/60R16 tires in front, 275/50R16s in the rear and features period correct "quick jack" style bumpers and a single hoop roll bar."I have driven the car very little in the six years I have owned it. I would describe it as a "driver" and not a show car. The car has the usual scratches and wear & tear. Mileage is unknown. The only major expense needed is a fuel cell with more capacity than the present gas tank. There is no top, no a/c, no heater, no radio...this is as close as you will get to what Carroll Shelby built in 1966. Yes, people do win raffle cars...for more information on the research center look up racingarchives Watkins Glen.
