1974 Saab Sonett III - fun driver... but needs love and restoration
1974 Saab Sonett
Fun to drive (as I do every few days), but it's a project that needs finishing. After a year of ownership, I realize i do not have the time to enjoy it and fix it up.
Electric fuel pump with Weber carb. Excellent reliability with those! V4 Ford German built engine. 4-speed freewheel tranny.
Odo shows 35k... but I doubt that's right. Needs paint and seats redone. Needs radio and some missing dash buttons (see photos). Headlights need wired back up and manual linkage reconnected. Horn and inner fenders need reinstalled. Trunk was rusted out but replaced... not pretty but it works. Some rust forming in the rockers. But the pans look solid.
Big box with Lots of extra tune up engine parts. (see photo). Likely $350-$400 in new parts. Cash only.
I'm an ebay seller for 21 years. Excellent feedback. This car needs work (as noted), but it's so much fun to drive!
Hagerty puts this in "good condition" at $9,400. But mine needs a lot to get there. Thus, the reserve is a little over 1/3 of that... pretty low to sell. :) Thank you.Brian
