*. *Up for auction is this 1985 Rolls-Royce Silver Spur long wheelbase sedan. This car is in a very high degree of preservednes, having benefited from spending its entire life in sunny Southern California. As a result, it is a highly coveted rust-free car. The car also has been finished in the Striking color combination not often seen of light oyster paint on the upper body and dark oyster paint on the lower which is complimented by a dark brown everflex top. There is absolutely no sign of rust underneath the top which is also rather rare. This car was special ordered from Rolls-Royce of Beverly Hills with the cream colored interior piped in brown and the overall effect against the exterior two tone paint job is quite striking. It was also ordered with a leather covered steering wheel and the original wheel covers seem to have gotten special treatment as well. The paint as well as the condition of the Interior is certainly far above average for a car this age. There are some very minor blemishes to be found upon close examination within the paint, but these truly are small and you have to hunt for them as they are not apparent at first glance. Remarkable for a 37-year-old paint job. As soon as you open one of the doors to enter the interior, the rich aroma of the Connolly leather strikes you. All four seating areas are in very good condition with absolutely no rips and barely any creases, let alone tears. The car also came specially equipped with complete wraparound lambswool rugs and they remain in above average condition. Everything on this car works with the exception of the original Delco stereo that has a malfunctioning cassette player, although the AM/FM radio portion works perfectly fine and the speakers still sound quite nice. The power antenna goes up and down as it should . The car has had a number of repairs done to it including $1,100 spent on it this week alone to replace the alternator and the radiator was taken out so a hairline crack in the neck of the fill spout could be repaired. In essence, this is a very strong running all original California Rolls-Royce Silver Spur that is quite striking in appearance. The car will come with all of its original books and a special 55-page folder related to its order and first three years of original ownership. The car also will come with another Rarity as I have three original sets of ORIGINAL Yale keys that go to this car. The car will be sold as is, where is with no warranty expressed or implied. California buyers please note that the car will need to be smogged to transfer into a new California owner's name and the smog shall be your responsibility as part of the registration process.
