1930 Phantom II Rolls-Royce, IN 151GN "The Mongrel"


151GN is an outstanding example of the premier model of Rolls-Royce pre-war motor car manufacturing. 151GN is British made, ight hand drive, 50-inch wheelbase, upporting a 468 cubic inch displacement, ix cylinder overhead valve engine with battery and magneto twin ignitions. The engine has been modernized with a full flow spin on type oil filter, tellated and rotating exhaust valves with roller type cam followers.

Vehicle has servo-assisted four-wheel brakes with 21-inch wheels and two side mounted spares. A voltmeter for reading battery condition and electric gas gauge has been fitted to instrument panel for convenience.

The current body is a similar blend.Originally it was delivered to department store owner, ax Bamberger as a Hooper sedanca. After several transitions, rewster four-door town car coachwork has been modernized by the removal of the partition between driver and rear passengers and installation of a comfortable adjustable front seat. Rounded aluminum upper rear quarter section with large rear window and side window replaces former square section with tiny rear window and no side windows. Canvas roof is replaced by metal roof. Original mahogany running boards in excellent condition with trunk mounted on rear. Body is Lincoln red with black fenders and red wheels.
