The car comes with an extensive service history going back to the late 80's, with total receipts adding up over $60,000. This is the last year of the chromed steel bumpers for this car. Current owner is believed to be the 5th owner on the car. Originally purchased by the well-known actor Walter Matthau for his wife and owned by the Matthau's for many years. The family sold this car back in 2004 for $25,000.

The car presents extremely well in Champagne over Masons black sides. Never abused or damaged. The paint is in very nice condition with a beautiful shine & very few flaws. Mechanically the car is very reliable. Engine starts every time. Quiet idling. Air-conditioning blows cold. Interior still has that Rolls Royce smell. The inside of the car looks to be original and in very good condition. The wood varnish looks to be peeling in a couple places but retains a nice patina. The leather is in very nice original condition also with patina....the driver seat being reupholstered in leather sometime later.

Car includes original manual as well as the original tool kit (with a couple tools missing). Also includes original factory foot-rests in the back. The paint looks very nice on the car - not 100% certain if it is original, but if it was a re-paint it definitely looks like it would have been an expensive one. The body is straight and to the owner"s knowledge the car has never been involved in a wreck. Car is currently driving nicely; it shifts into gear smoothly and drives cushion-y. The wood strip against the windshield is in beautiful condition.... Carpets present very nicely. A couple of minor issues: the clock works intermittently, and the electric for the antenna wants to go up as the motor turns. Portions of the wood will need to be re-varnished. Car handles very well, and drives smaller than it is. Always garaged. Recent services done by owner include (approx. $10,000 worth of services): Fuel Pump Fuel Lines Oil Service Axle Boot Brake Service & Bleed Emergency Brake Bracket New Battery Bushings Carb Service, replaced ignition switch, cooling system addressed, some oil pipes were replaced, replacing the brake lights, suspension adjustment.
