CAR HISTORYThis exquisite Rolls-Royce was delivered in March 1981 in Geneva, Switzerland, and spent some time in the USA right afterwards, registered to the name of a well-known Saudi diplomat working in Washington. The car eventually returned to Switzerland, where it was used by the Saudi Embassy in Geneva and faithfully serviced for several years —our records stretch as far as 1994. The car made its way to Poland and then to the Netherlands, where we acquired it for our own collection in late 2015.

We are unsure on this car's weight, but we estimate that the extra armoring will make it closer to 3.5 tons.
COSMETICThe car is in near-perfect condition, free of rust. The custom-ordered fabric interior is as-new, with only some of the carphone cable insulation wearing off. We believe the car has been garaged all its life, as the original paint shows no wear or damage of any kind. The steering wheel is free of cracks, as is the gorgeous burlwood finish on the dashboard and window sills. Due to age, the windows are showing some delamination typical of armored vehicles of this vintage.
MECHANICALThe car has needed very little under our ownership. While being run on our collection's exhaust system once a month and driven sparingly, we have rebuilt the SU carburettors due to a malfunctioning float. The 6.75L engine idles flawlessly and pulls the enormous weight of the car with confidence. The Turbo Hydramatic GM400 3-speed gearbox delivers engine power with ease and smoothness. All electrical items work, as does the air conditioning. Fuel gauge is somewhat erratic, most likely due to an inconsistent fuel sender.
ARMORING MODIFICATIONSWe are unsure of the degree of armoring on the car, yet we lean towards thinking it's B4. The windows are nearly an inch thick, and the grille has a plating mesh. The car has reinforced door hinges, suspension and brakes. We are unsure on the undercarriage plating of the car, as our lifts are only rated for little over two tons.
DRIVING EXPERIENCEThe car starts with ease and shifts properly,adequatelyclimbing to highway speeds. While not a rocketship, it can comfortably maintain 65mph with ease and utter comfort. Most likely due to the armouring modifications, the brakes have been strengthened and make the car stop with unsuspected ease. While the car rides differently from most period Rolls-Royces, it balances armor protection and comfort with a slightly stiffer suspension, still gliding on the road. While some wind noise slips in past 50mph on the inch-thick window frames, the cabin is as quiet as when the car left its coachbuilder back in 1981.
