The Sterling Kitcar is very rare. Produced in the late 60's & 70's and discontinued in early 1980's placed on VW SuperBeetle Frame (However this one is unique it also has Corvette StingRay/GM front steering and ignition components). Since then very few are still on the road (from my research, and hunting I haven't seen another in California & will guess less then 500 still exist in the world even fewer running with working hydraulic top.

WHAT VEHICLE NEEDS IS MOSTLY ELECTRICAL - SINCE CAR WAS GUTTED OF ALL THE 1970's INSANE WIRING... ONCE GUTTED WIRING NEEDED TO START THE CAR, TURN ON THE LIGHTS AND STEREO SYSTEM WAS ALL THAT WAS PUT BACK IN... SO IT STILL NEEDS SOME LOVE TO FINISH THIS AMAZING PROJECT. LIKE ANY KITCAR BEST TO LIKE A PROJECT OR KNOW PEOPLE WHO CAN HELP RESTORE TO MAKE IT 100%.
1. Dash Gauges were removed for a clean car show look... (they were also old so we removed to add new VDO gauges but never got around to it). new gauge set goes for around $300 - car has no gauges presently but can be driven.
2. TAIL LAMPS LIGHT UP however the blinker relays were accidentally removed with old gauges and wiring, will need that put back (wasnt needed for carshows) but will be needed for daily driving etc. brake lights work but wire to pedal that makes them light up on braking is loose or something should be looked at to work 100%.
3. NEW Ignition key switch needed (key hole was worn and key wouldnt turn anymore so it was modified to start with a pull of a lever under dash by steeringcolumn, (no keys needed) secondary toggle switch kill-switch for on/offalso added.
4. NEW PAINTimages show car from a year ago, since then paint has faded a bit from los angeles heat etc... and there arenicks and scratches here and there that need to be sanded out and touched up (most you cant see from 10 feet away) but worth noting since pics show the car with its fresh paint - new paint recommended to look like images. NO BODY DAMAGE.
5. NOTE:Stereo system in photos (head unit) has been removed and is only part of auction if vehicle sell BUY IT NOW, the 8" rear window speaker box stays with car however speakers may need to be replaced.CUSTOM RED DASH PLASTIC/ACRYLIC - new plastic included with auction since dash has small crack near radio.
Also up for sale locally, I will end auction if it sells before this auction meets the desired price point,so last minute bidders beware I may sell it if I don't see your interested.

NEEDS GAUGES PUT BACK INTO DASH AND SOME WIRING DONE TO MAKE THAT PERFECT - ITS REGISTERED AS A SHOW CAR PRESENTLY AND HAS BEEN DRIVEN TO AND FROM LOCAL SHOWS BUT TO BE SAFE I WOULD FINISH THE DASH AND ELECTRICAL NEEDED BEFORE SAYING ITS LEGAL:) I guess legal for a weekend show car - needs some things to make it a daily driver in the eyes of the DMV etc. PRICE IS LOWERED DUE TO THIS.
