Description:

1992 Porsche 911

The 1992 through 1993 Porsche 911 America Roadster is a limited production cabriolet variant of the 964 Carrera 2 with a Turbo body, intended for the North American market. It had the same mechanical setup as the Carrera2, but its fender flares, brakes, suspension, and wheels were upgraded to Turbo-spec.

The American Roadster is essentially a turbo-bodied Carrera Cabriolet with Turbo suspension and brakes. Like the 356 America Roadster it was named after, the Type 964 America Roadster was a limited-edition, driver-focused convertible destined for the American market. This is a rare model with only 250 examples produced.

Production for the America Roadster was limited at only 250 examples, and the model was only produced in1992 and 1993. Its engine was a standard unit making 250 horsepower, but the special edition had the wide fender flares, suspension, brakes, and 17-inch Porsche Cup wheels of the 911 Turbo. The small rear seats were replaced with a parcel shelf with storage compartments underneath, adding to the sporting nature of the car.

This vehicle is in running condition, however will need some TLC. Engine light is illuminated and paint is in need of restoration. With the exception of the rear quarter-panel dent which exhibits minor surface rust, the car is rust free. Wheels have curb rash, but are true and original. Electric roof is currently inoperable - the roof itself is in good condition, however the plastic rear window will need replacement. Car is in need of professional overhaul to bring it back to its former glory.

Local viewing can be arranged - no tire kickers please.
