Every bit of paperwork, including the window sticker, original warranty book, original manual, original cover they came in, original 1982 911 brochure, the car’s sales contract, the salesman’s business card, a personal letter from Rueben R. Roth (President of Roth Porsche Audi Inc. in Oregon) specifically writing/commenting about this 911sc, as well the original dealer key tag, factory key code card, dealer odometer disclosure statement and hand written and typed out notes by the buyer comparing various 911 models during the purchasing process of this one all included.

Plus, this Targa has a meticulous maintenance records file since new showing it has been receiving top notch care for decades. On top of this, the car is/has been Porsche dealer serviced for many of those years.

The Porsche had a $25k engine out top and bottom rebuild a few years ago at 100,956 miles. The current mileage reads 103,047 miles.

The Targa was said to be running great at that time of the rebuild but the original owner didn't like there was a drip of oil or two beginning to show up on his garage floor so he opted to have the entire engine done.

The original owner doctor was meticulous with keeping things in order. The clutch was replaced at 100k. Rear shocks and front strut inserts also replaced with oem parts at this time. The airbox got a pop off valve added too. The brake master cylinder also got changed out.

The original owner babied this 911sc for 40 years (1982 to 2022) and, after I had a Porsche dealership go over it, doing whatever maintenance they suggested, I put it into my Porsche collection in 2022. I’ve got a few new toys on the way and need to make some garage space. It pains me to possibly let this one go. It really came down to the flip of a coin on whether to put the Targa out there for sale or another Porsche in my collection. Not kidding.

In that this 911sc had been maintained so well (and to Porsche factory standards for 4 decades) in 2022 Palm Springs Porsche asked if they could use it for in person side by side/visual comparisons while rebuilding their nut and bolt ground up 1982 911sc that would be competing at the 2022 Concourse de elegance Pebble Beach in a nationwide Porsche restoration contest. Porsche Palm Springs went on to win first place there.

As a lifelong air cooled Porsche collector, I was happy to say yes to their request.

I acquired the Targa after seeing it in the Porsche Palm Springs Classic Car Division getting a yearly service at the request of the original owner.

As much as the original owner loved and pampered his Porsche for 40 years, he felt he was at the age and stage that he needed to sell his baby. I can share more of this very emotional/touching story/sales transaction between me and him with the next curator if they like.

Meanwhile, here’s a bit more info in regards to the car, the original owner and myself:

Purchased new by a doctor in Salem, Oregon at Roth Porsche Audi. He took delivery on July 20, 1982 as shown in the original Porsche (with dealer stamps over the years) warranty book.

The doctor lived between Oregon and California.

He’d end up getting the Porsche yearly registered in California though he kept the original 1982 Oregon title in place for 40 years.

I’m a long time air cooled Porsche collector who just happens to live between Oregon and California as well.

I came across this 1982 911sc in the Palm Springs Classic Porsche service department while a paint to sample 911 Turbo of mine was in for service at the same dealership.

The doctor had the Targa in for a California smog check and oil change.

There was talk that after all these decades as the only owner he may finally be willing to let her go to a good home.

Well, one thing led to another and the Targa ended up in my collection.

In July 2022 the Porsche Palm Springs dealer changed the oil, did a California smog check, put on new Michelin tires, inspected the car over and anything that was suggested to be done was, including changing the window washer pump. A new battery was also installed during this time in which mileage was at about 102,800. I've put about 300 miles on since then.

The interior is really immaculate. No dash cracks. All the gauges, include the clock, work.

The Targa top got new seals and was recovered in oem style headliner and oem style exterior vinyl material and is in excellent condition.

Paint shows glossy and nice. Though, you will see some road rash under the front chin and on the body here and there. There’s a door ding on the driver rear quarter panel. A paintless dent removal company could likely get it out as there is access to it from underneath.

It’s extremely rare to find a vintage 911 with such documented history as well as no expenses spared maintenance for its entire life, including the engine rebuild a couple thousand miles ago. Total mileage reads 103,047 as of now.

I can get you any specific pics or videos you’d like, just send me a message through Ebay. I did post a cold start up video with this listing but it says Ebay may need 2 days or so to approve it before it will show on here. The video I did was longer and included a walk around but file was too big for Ebay video limits. I have the rest of the video to send directlythrough Ebay messages if you'd like.

The 911sc (Oregon titled and registered in my name) is garaged at a property of mine in Palm Springs, California at the moment. I’m currently at this property so I can get you any more specific pictures or video requested of the Porsche.

Drives great, shifts great, looks great, no rust, constant compliments when out and about.

Fly in to Palm Springs, drive home. Or, if being shipped, same pick up location.

I have the right to cancel this Ebay listing at any time should a sale that works for me and a buyer occur locally or otherwise during the course of the listing. Thanks.
