This rare factory SUNROOF 1962 356B T-6 was very pretty when it was brand new on January 15, 1962. It was originally ordered by a German dealer of Frankfurt for a German resident, but somehow made its way New Jersey by the mid-1970s. The years have not been kind to the body, but it wears most of it's original Oslo blue paint which could be buffed out and most of an original red interior. The trunk and lower front nose skin has been resprayed. Inside the trunk and battery area are super solid and you can even still use the tow eye to pull the car upon a trailer. It had a minor rear-ending in its last days when it was on the road about 45 years ago. As you can see there has been no attempt to pull the damage. The floor has a large hole behind the driver's seat. There are other holes on the top and bottom of the unibody; vehicle will need total restoration. It does not have the spare wheel/tire. The key fits and turns the ignition. The engine starts, idles, and runs well. I have a video, however, I used an electric fuel pump and gas jug, for a fuel source and so avoided using the manual fuel pump and gas tank which likely need rebuilding and cleanin, respectively. Electric fuel pump is not included, but only use for demonstration purposes. Even the rear lights came on as seen in the video. The engine photo shows the engine in motion. The starter works with a 6v battery (not included) and engages when the key is turned. The original electric sunroof motor runs, when dash toggle is pressed, but the cable may be disconnected as it doesn't open. I have not tried to manually open the sunroof. The headliner is intact. The dash components are all intact except for a radio.At minimum, a person will have to buy new tires, replace the brake system and clean the gas tank as well as clean/clear/blow out and/or replace gas lines. I would suggest a tune up on the engine and perhaps carburetors and fuel pump be rebuilt as well and muffler replacement as well as clean out any rodent bedding under the tin. You cannot drive it home, "as-is."Could you drive it as you restore the body? I suppose, but that is not suggested, implied, or recommended. I should be restored to it's former glory. It needs rust repair in lower fender wells, below the rockers, under quarter windows, outer sheetmetal, etc. The doors open and close and car does not sag. It has the usual rust except for the front trunk area which is nice and supports battery well as stated above.Questions and requests for additional photos BEFOFE bidding, please. A clean title in my name comes with this car. I am a respected member of the 356 community and will answer all questions as completely as possible. This vehicle needs total restoration, but the end product will be very valuable as this is a rare factory sunroof model and great color combination. Note: the tires are no good. If your shipper requires inflated tires on wheels; I can have my friend bring the wheels to the tire store for new tires/tubes as needed for a fee plus the cost of tires/tubes/mounting/disposal.
