This is an AUTO/TIPTRONIC Porsche!!! One of the first years that Porsche introduced the tiptronic transmission to go from Auto to Manual (from 1989 after sportomatic). Widely considered the first 964 model with this option.
Naturally-aspirated, rear-wheel drive variant released a year behind the all-wheel drive Carrera 4 in 1990. The car is equipped with Porsche’s 4-speed Tiptronic gearbox–the first TRUE automatic offered in a 911, as well as the world’s first to feature plus/minus-style manual shift controls.
The car looks nice in classic Guards Red over tan leather, and its odometer currently displays fewer than 44,000 miles. It is offered with a salvage title as detailed in the accompanying Carfax documentation.

The car sits on a flattering set of multi-piece 18” OZ wheels, similar to those worn by the 911 Turbo 3.6 and wrapped in 265/35 rubber. Upright headlights would disappear with the 964’s successor, the 993, and other features tied to the car’s 1960’s roots include trigger-style door handles, a steep windshield angle, and drip rails.
These cars were built to very old-world Germanic standards, and the interior is holding up well. Tan leather was quite commonly paired with Guards Red paint, and excluding an aftermarket Pioneer stereo head unit, the cabin is unaltered.
Way in back, an air-cooled 3.6 liter flat-six delivers 247 hp to the rear wheels via a 4-speed Tiptronic transaxle. The 964’s suspension, though modernized with coil springs in place of traditional torsion bars, still retained a strut and control arm front and semi-trailing arms in rear.
