This is 1 of the 11 Rare early 1965 Factory Silver Metallic built and prepared at Porsche factory to rece immediately after completion date of 5/12/1965, prepared to race by Porsche from 5/12 to 5/19. (SEE KARDEX).
Now less are know to exist in the World per PORSCHE Registry. This early rare color Porsche is
# 1122. (301122). The earlier the numbers and the rarer the Porsches are the more expansive they are.
Early Porsches are selling for 7 figures. a very early one sold for $3.3Million. (See some sales in last 4 photos). (I also have one of the first 100 Porsches ever made for sale. Is a Museum piece. CLICK ON MY OTHER ITEMS FOR SALE).
ALSO SELLING PART OF MY CAR COLLECTION, SEE CARS MENTIONED BELOW.....
Silver Metallic color was not offered to the public in early 1965 for 65' 911 models.
PORSCHE Racing Color was Silver.
Last 1965 Silver Metallic Porsche sold at auction for $407K as shown in attached photo, and that PORSCHE did not Race.
Kardex shows lots of mechanical work done to the car immediately after completion date, this shows that it was a Porsche factory Prepared race car, Porsche racing color was Silver Metallic. Car Runs very good!
Seems like the car continued racing cause it has a 1974 Porsche 911 strong Engine and RSR racing body kit, they lowered the roof for better Aerodynamics and even put removable T roofs, they did this son if car crashed and can't open the door the driver can get out through the roof, specially if the car turns on fire.
car does have the original factory matching number 5 speed transmission. If later racing history is found from 1970's this car can be worth 7 figures as it is, If not, original fenders are underneath the RSR fenders, which will make it easier to restore it back to original, and then you have a $400K plus rare Silver Metallic PORSCHE that most definitely raced in mid 60's.
Original Racing RSR's were built in 1973 1974. They are worth up to $8Million. A good clone with a 1974 Porsche Engine sells for up to 8% of the originals. So even as an RSR Clone is a good buy.
Only decided to sell it, cause I have an investment opportunity to buy Technology shares before they go public. It will give me a very good return.
This is why I'mwilling to sell the car for much less then $407K. Make offer!
