Beautiful 1988 930 Turbo
1988 Porsche 930 Turbo
My experience when shopping for Porsche 930 Turbos was that there were many cars out there, but most of them had been abused and not cared for. This car is exactly the opposite.Although the car has just over 69,000 miles, the engine has only a couple of hundred miles since a $25,000 rebuild by the Manhattan Motorsport Porsche shop. So, to save everyone some time, here are my tips for bidders:
·DON'T look at this car if you are looking for a project car...this car needs nothing (but to be driven, and it drives great!!!).
·DON'T expect to buy this car for the low price that is seen on many 930's that have been "ridden hard and put away wet" (to use a cowboy term). This car has been cared for and is in spectacular condition!
·DON'T expect a car that has been repaired under the oak tree in the back yard by the owner. All service and repair since my purchase has been done by the local Porsche dealership with receipts upon request and the engine rebuild was done by Manhattan Motorsports.
·DON'T expect an interior with cuts and tears. This interior looks like it belongs in a 10,000 mile car.
·DO expect to get a good value for the money. This car looks good, it starts without hesitation, it is dependable and is a lot of car the price.
·DO feel free to inspect the car.The local Porsche dealership is less than one mile from my garage and I am happy to have them inspect the car for you (at your cost, of course.)The true beauty cannot be shown in these photographs. The deep blue paint is not perfect but is truly a beautiful and unique color that looks perfect from a ten feet away.
·DO expect a very nice car. This 3.3L (300 hp) 4-speed manual coupe looks almost new! While being driven only about 2,500 miles per year for the last 27 years, this car has been extremely well cared for, plus the car has been fully vetted by Manhattan Motorsports no more than 300 miles back.At 69,151 miles the car had $26,513 of work performed by, plus approximately $4,000 of parts supplied by the owner that were installed for a total of over $30k of improvements.Included was:
·Complete engine rebuild, including head rebuild, all new bearings, gaskets and belts.
·Transmission inspection
·Brake jog
·New Tires
The car includes full power equipment - windows, locks, mirrors and sunroof.Driver and passenger lumbar seating, alarm system, limited slip differential, forged Fuchs allow wheels, and Blaupunkt cassette player and radio. The car comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche.
Some paint touch-ups on the hood are visible and both the front and rear valances have been repaired and painted but otherwise the original paint and the body are nearly perfect. The interior looks like that of a one-year old car, not a 27-year old car.
Receipts for all work are available upon request and all work that we have receipts for has been done by Porsche Dealerships. We encourage inspections of this fine car.The car is in a suburb of Dallas, Texas.Call Fred at 214-704-0200 with questions.
