One of the most sought-after and respected cars in its day, the 930 Turbo has rightfully earned its place as a legend in the Porsche world. There is little doubt that Porsche was the first automaker to improve turbocharging to the point that it nearly elevated forced induction to an art form. One of a mere 1,605 Porsche 930 Turbo coupes exported to the U.S.for model-year 1987, this classic machine is presented in Grand Prix White contrasted by a black leather interior. The car is factory optioned with an electric sunroof, Fuchs alloy wheels with body-color-keyed centers, Blaupunkt radio, limited-slip differential, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with raised hub and what is believed to be a mere 40,190 original miles. In 1986, the 930 Turbo reappeared onthe U.S.market after a six-year hiatus that started in 1980. Upon its return, the car came back with all its previous virtues and some new ones as well. The engine now produced 282 HP, a nice bump over the previously imported 1979 version. In the ensuing years, Porsche had become more adept in complying with the emission laws and came up with a trifecta solution that increased horsepower, improved drivability and created less pollution. This 930 Turbo is still fast—even by today’s lofty standards—with a 0-60 MPH acceleration time of 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 160 MPH. It has often been speculated that the Porsche Turbo was removed from the U.S. market in 1980 to stop the sales cannibalization of Porsche'sflagship Porsche 928. With the popularity and demand for the car being too seductive to ignore, the 930 Turbo was brought back to a receptive audience. This 930 Turbo comes with its owner’s manual, warranty and maintenance book, service records and Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.
