1978 Porsche 911 HOTROD Cafe Racer
Euro 1978 911SC Targa Cafe Racer
This is a 1978 EURO 911SC Targa HOTROD Café Racer that encapsulates the definition of COOL. This car was tastefully done with its original numbers matching engine in a hot configuration that redlines at 7300 RPM and pulls like a bat out of hell. Remember this is an original Euro model, which had a lot more power than the US 911SCs. A recent compression & leakdown test was done at Mayo Performance; the numbers came out excellent. Results are posted below. It is no surprise the engine doesn't leak any oil or leave any smoke, even on start up. The engine was fully rebuilt ~30k miles ago. The owner who commissioned the rebuilt and the light mods to the car totaled a sum of $60-$70k. Yes you read correctly. The car sits on desirable and wide 7&8 x16 Fuchs, and is lowered to a proper hotrod stance. I recently had a front end alignment done as well. The Fuchs were recently completely redone in RSR style. They look absolutely stunning. All lights and electronics work as they should. The paint has few imperfections but overall presents remarkable with a small area on the the hood where there's a little bubbling. The car still wears its original and desirable H4 headlights and Euro bumpers. The interior is finished with period cool Recaro sport seats paired with red&black CoCo mats. The original leather optioned dash is nice with no cracks. The rear seats were replaced with a deck that holds rear speakers. Radio works well. The targa top fits perfect and is in near mint condition. Service receipts go back to 1994. The car spent most of its life in the dry Las Vegas, Nevada desert, therefore no rust can be found of the car. This Café racer is the ideal aircooled classic Targa to take out on an early Sunday morning drive to the local coffee shop with the targa top off & windows rolled down, allowing yourself to live in the moment. Aircooled 911s are the epitome of raw sports car fun, and this Café racer does not disappoint in the fun department. I have a free and clear title. Please feel free to ask any questions you have!
Recent Compression at Mayo Performance at ~150psi on all cylinders evenly. I have copy of the invoice and pictures of each gauge doing the compression/leakdown. Test was done 6/21/18.
