This is a beautiful reproduction a 1956 Porsche 356a coupe. Ths is NOT a kit. This is a complete turn key vehicle produced by JPS Motorsports in California. It's a perfect combination of classic looks with more modern amenities. The engine is a Subaru 180 hp fuel injected boxer engine. This provides far more horsepower than the original with a great torque curve. The best part is you just turn the key and go no matter what the weather/temps and it instantly fires up and never hesitates or needs tuning....try that with an original, or a VW based engine!
The interior features heated leather seats, air conditioning, real heat (not like air cooled engines), and power windows. It has a classic looking AM push button radio that is really a digital Bluetooth capable, IPOD capable stereo.
I've owned the vehicle for 3 years and use it for the occasional drive to work, car shows, and just some good cruising!It currently has approx 6700 miles, but that will vary slightly, as I do actively drive the car. I have owned numerous "real Porsches", and this has been a joy to own and drive and has not required any maintenance other than the occasional oil change.
The only known issue is a tempermental headlight switch. It occasionally needs a little fiddling to work correctly. I have purchased a replacement switch and of course it started behaving soI have yet to replace it. If I get a chance I'll throw the new switch in. If not, it will be provided with the sale.
The pictures show a chrome luggage rack on the rear decklid. The rack is currently removed (I like the look without it), but the rack will be provided with the sale. It can removed with no signs of ever being installed.
I've enjoyed the car immensely but I have come across a real estate deal I just can't refuse. As it so often is, opportunity doesn't come without loss, so I need to do some purging of my toys ;)
