Arguably one of the most desirable water cooled fronted engine TurboPorsche's ever built.
This example will probably be one of the cleanest examples you will come across. The Turbo is all original with matching body panels with proper factory placed vehicle identification stickers. The body is in excellent condition with virtually no door dings, dents of any sort or major scratches. I believe everything on the car is functioning and in working order. This Turbo is a Garage Queen and has been treated as such since my ownership. The car is always stored in doors and has never been left outside in the elements as seen in near flawless interior with no tears in carpet, door panels, headliner or leather seats (commonsmall cracks in dash). The paint has been maintained with normal hand washes with polishes and waxes applied routinely. Pictures of the overall paint speak for themselves.I purchase the car with approximately 92,000 miles and have put on approximately 10,000 over the past 10 years.
The engine runs fantastically, firing right up without hesitation, does not smoke or burn any oil, has full compression and drives with full power without stutter of any kind.
The previous owner fitted the car with a Auto Power Porsche Roll Bar. I installed a custom hand built and Tig-Welded3 inchexhaust system. The system included down pipe, straight pipe and terminates all the way through a racing Burns Stainless Steel muffler. The custom exhaust alone cost me around $2500 including the Burns muffler ($800). I cannot even begin to tell you how this system has woken up the motor by reducing Turbo lag, increasing power and improved drive-ability.
The 89 944 Turbo was the last year 944 Turbo was built/delivered to the US Market. Approximately 1385 Turbo's were imported to the states in 1989 so this represents a rare opportunity to own a car that is taking on a cult following.As many of this cars were wrecked or turned into race cars they are becoming rarer as each year passes.The 89 year car came standard with all of the Turbo S spec options that were available in the 1988 Turbo S model year.
This Turbo is equipped with all available options and is all original. Every body panel has matching VIN tags and matching ID numbers. The Turbo is finished in Bamboo Metallic (LY1Z), Black leather interior and rides on factory stock 16" forged Club Sport alloy wheels. The factory stone guards have degraded but a new factory 3M stone guard set will be included in the sale. All 89 Turbos come with the M030 suspension option featuring height and rebound adjustable Koni coilovers at the front, adjustable Koni dampers at the rear, larger sway bars, higher rate springs, firmer suspension bushings and stiffer rear torsion bars. The brakes were also upgraded compared to all other standard 944 Turbo's, and included 12" discs and four piston front calipers sourced from the Porsche 928 S4.
The option code sticker is present on the rear bulkhead, and decodes as follows:
030 - Sport suspension

593 - Anti-Lock Brakes
650 - Detachable roof panel, electrically operable

Additionally, thisTurbo has had major service work that was performed by the previous owner and is documented in paid invoices and receipts. The work includes approximately $6000 at MidWest Eurosport including new head gasket, rebuilt head, new water pump, pulleys, rollers and belts. More recent oil changes and maintenance have been performed at Precision Motorwerks in Orange, CA.
CarFax reports no known accidents and clean titlewhichcan be provided upon request. Car is currently being stored at Crevier Classic Car & Storage and bring sold private party.
