A Brief History…• Purchased 11/6/1985 from Schonwald Auto Imports in Augsburg, West Germany
• Original Title (Fahrzeugbrief) 55 060 550
• Transportation Company to United States: Radix Group International (Albany, NY)
• Arrived in Albany, NY on 12/24/1985
• U.S. Customs Completed 12/27/1985, Document O.M.B No. 2127-0012
• Jade, LTD completed all DOT & EPA Conversion out of Southport, CT
• Approval form 2000-0041 submitted 12/27/85 to EPA
• HS-189 form and approval document from Washington D.C. on 3/17/1986
• Car is legal to drive and life begins in Wooster, OH
The beginning of a complete restoration inside and out:
• Steinel’s Autowerks, Inc. of Twinsburg, Oh. Started Phase 1 (mechanical) on 9-23-2003.
• Engine and Trans completed on 7-20-2004. (Phase 1)
• Phase 2 body work was being done at the same time as Phase 1. 6/01/2003 through 1/27/2004.
• Phase 3 the chassis started 9-21-2004 where a complete redo of the under carriage was completed. Car was re-assembled and ready for its new look.
As you can see, this was a timely process. No expenses were spared, and no short cuts were taken. All certifications from West Germany, U.S. Customs documents, and EPA documents are in order and available to the purchaser. The receipts and documentation for repair and restoration orders are also available. There are less than 2000 miles on this total, ground up restoration. It’s been stored in a heated garage through every snow-covered Midwest winter. I will attempt to respond to all questions with documentation.
