Being offered for sale by a vintage car collector to make room for some new spring acquisitions.
You are looking at one of the cleanest all original 1985.5 Porsche 944's in the U.S. Owned for over 32 years by the original owner- a real Porsche enthusiast. No mods- never raced.
The .5 refers to it being a mid-year car introduced with the newer designed dash that Porsche used for many years afterward. This is a mostly stock 944 with less than an average of 4,000 miles driven annually. Always garaged and it shows. Zero rust anywhere. All original paint in a very rare color (Pastel Beige) with brown leather interior. The color is closer to what I would call an antique white. I acquired this car a year ago from the original owner and this was his "baby". Meticulously maintained, always garaged under a cover and pampered. I have the original sales documentation from the Porsche dealer in Atlanta- sold new for $23,000 in 1985. It spent its entire life in South Carolina.
The interior is excellent. There are some typical minor cracks from the sun in the top of the dash and I have a brand new dash cover for the new owner. I ended up deciding it looked fine without. The leather seats and carpet are excellent with only one side bolster on the drivers seat showing any wear (no rips or tears- see photos). The console pad has been removed. The back seat appears as new. The headliner is perfect. The original radio has been replaced with a modern radio/cd and two new rear surface mount speakers (there are also two factory door speakers). All gauges work properly. The a/c is freshly charged and blows cold. The sunroof opens and closes properly and the sunroof seals were recently replaced. Original factory floor mats are still in the car.
No accidents or paintwork ever! There are the usual tiny nicks here and there that have been touched up. All original phone dial wheels.
In the past 18 months: New tires, new battery, all fluids flushed
Important: The timing belt/water pump service was performed less than 200 miles ago by a local certified Porsche mechanic. Receipts provided.
Very rare dealer installed air-flow kit (lower body panels) as well as the rear 944 valence/reflector.
Starts and runs like a top- needs nothing. Drive this across country tomorrow.
