THIS IS A DRIVER'S CARYOU ARE GOING TO LOVE THIS GREAT DRIVING CLASSIC PORSCHE !
Car listed on Hemmings with more pictures! This 1969 Porsche 912/911 is a clean and AWESOME driver features an assortment of thoughtful mechanical and cosmetic upgrades performed which most Porsche fans desire! This Porsche is provided by a great 2.4L flat-six from a 1973 911T that underwent a full top-end rebuild in 2013, and is fitted with Weber 40 IDA carburetors and mated to a 4-speed 915 manual transmission. PERFECT FOR TOURING AND ANGELES CREST! The car was repainted 5 years ago and the interior has recently been refreshed with RS sports seats from Vintage Racing, RS door panels, a new dash, and rebuilt gauges (all gauges work!!). A recent engine-out service was completed few years ago and is fully documented in service records that date back to 2013.
.
The car was originally Green and is believed to have been repainted nearly 20 years ago to a beautiful Silver. The Silver paint has held up well and the respray was thorough with no remnants present of the original Green color: Silver looks original. All exterior rubber components and metal trim are said to be in good condition. Some chips and scrapes are noticeable on the fiberglass S front bumper and spoiler, and the driver's door exhibits some scrapes along the trailing edge. Some bubbling is present as expected in a classic Porsche not fully restored. This car is a DRIVER, not a garage queen or concourse Porsche 911... but still looks GREAT! Some highlights:
  • car sits at European-spec (lower) ride height and was fitted with new Sachs struts and shocks in 2013
  • BUMP STEER KIT from Elephant Racing installed with 4-wheel alignment
  • "Deep six" Fuchs (each worth over $1200) and are wrapped in newer high performance N-rated Pirelli P6000 rubber designed for classic Porsche cars! No center caps (you can buy if your like them)
  • Very cool custom fabricated the ENGINE LID GRILL and added super cool "912/6" badging.
  • Interior looks excellent with Vintage Racing seats and RS door panels in place of the originals
  • DETAILS! A 1930's hand blown glass SHIFT KNOB offers a subtle contrast to the understated black interior.
  • new crack-free dash
  • rebuilt gauges with new bulbs
  • VINTAGE MOMO PROTOTIPO leather steering wheel
  • All electrics, controls, and gauges remain fully functional. The 76.5k indicated miles are not believed accurate.
  • 911 2.4L flat-six (#6531818) was installed some time ago by a previous owner and is fitted with TURBO VALVE COVERS and a set of Weber 40 IDA carburetors. In addition to the top-end rebuild performed in 2013, the car had a full $4,800 engine-out service performed in February 2016 that included:
• New plugs, wires, and cap
• Degreed-in cams
• Valve adjustment
• Carburetor re-jet
• Throttle linkage repair
• New engine bolt kit
• New axles
• Powder coated sheet metal
• New brake master cylinder
• Adjust and bleed brake system
Lifts shots show the underside of the engine to be dry and the stainless steel heater boxes to be in nice condition. The 4-speed 915 transmission is from a 1972 911, and that it was disassembled and gone through at the time of the engine-out service with new shift bushings fitted. Additional maintenance performed included a repair of the heating system and the installation of a gas tank vent.
The underbody remains clean and well-preserved. Due to some peeling of the original undercoating, fixed by removing the remnants and applied a new coating: great condition now. Some previous patchwork appears to have been performed on the front wheel wells as can be seen in the image gallery. Car has been very well taken care of as you can tell.Car is located in Irvine, CA and available for viewing anytime. Deposits are non-refundable. Serious inquiries only please, ideally seeking Porsche fan that appreciates and will care for this great car.
