Porsche 914 EV Conversion Electric

Price: US $2,500.00 Item location: Carlsbad, California, United States
Description:

1971 Porsche 914

This is an EV conversion done using the VoltsPorsche kit from Electroautomotive. Information about this kit can be seen here. This car is offered without batteries, but does have the Lead-Acid battery boxes installed from the conversion. The previous owner told me that the brakes had been upgraded to use BMW parts as mentioned in this link. There is a second black T-top included; See the photo of the rear of the car with the trunk open. Seat upholstery is not original, and was replaced by the last owner.
This sale is a pretty good deal, as the cost of the conversion kit greatly exceeds the asking price here.
The motor is an Advanced 9" brushed 120V DC type. The motor controller is a Curtis/PMC model 1231C. We used it for a while to experiment with some alternative NiMH batteries, which are no longer with the vehicle. The original bus bars from the Lead-Acid conversion are included. The charger is a Manzanita Micro model PFC20. Manuals and notes from the conversion are included.
The paint is overall not too bad, but it needs some touch-up and rework in a some places due to scuffs, small cracks and minor discoloration. The previous owner told me that the car had been in a collision at some point before he bought it. The synchro for downshifting into second gear is a bit worn, and could use some maintenance.
This car was moved by trailer from Colorado to California in 2011, where it has been stored withou being operated. Title is from the state of Colorado. The vehicle is located in Menifee, CA. We will not deliver the vehicle; Please come by and get it, or hire a vehicle shipping service to pick it up for you.
