1963 Porsche 356

Receipts back to the 1960's. Owned by friend for over 20 years, not driven in over 10 years. He drained the fuel when he parked it so I changed the fuel filter, put gas in it and it fired right up and runs great. I drove it up my street and back (but no further due to the long expired plates). The synros are in great shape and it is quiet in all gears. I replaced the 6 wheel cylinders with new ones from Stoddard. The previous owner had already replaced the master cylinder, brake shoes and hoses.
The interior was redone in the 80's or 90's with new headliner, seat covers, carpets and dash pad cover. They are showing their age. The glass is good and appears to be original with the exception of the windshield which was replaced at some point. The speedometer works fine, but the rest of the gauges will need some sorting. The tach doesn't work because it needs a new cable. The oil temp and gas gauges peg when you turn the key on which is usually a grounding issue. I will check the ground on the combination gauge when I get time. The transmission lock has the key and works fine. The S90 transverse spring is in good shape with good mounts. Still has what appears to be the original Continental tire spare - perhaps still has German air? :-)
The body is straight and solid with numbers matching doors, hood and engine cover. The right front fender was replaced long ago from behind the headlight area to the front of the door. The color was changed from it's original Ivory to Signal Red
The car comes with new pans including the battery box pan(shown in last picture). They should be replaced, but the car could be driven for many years with no concerns because they aren't weak just have some rust holes. Longitudinals are solid with a couple very minor spots that should be patched at the same time, same with a couple of the closing panels. The K member is rock solid as are both of the back seat bottoms and the areas below the rear torsion bar mounts.
If you wish to inspect the car, please do so before bidding. I am selling this car in "As Is" condition with now warrantees, express or implied.
