1960 Porsche 356 B Roadster VIN 87228 Engine 601174Here we have a car for the guy who wants an open 356 so bad it hurts, but his wallet won't cooperate. We have priced this car low and at no reserve because it is a very serious and ambitious project due to major rust. The car is very rusty, please look closely at the pictures to get a good idea of the extent of the corrosion on this car. There are some pieces of good news however, the first being unlike when these cars rusted in the 70s and no replacement metal was available, now you can get almost every panel needed to restore a car, even one as rusty as this one! The 2nd piece of good news is the engine turns over by hand. The windshield is an original Sigla one but does have a small crack. The car is not complete, so please look closely at the pictures to see what isn't included, stuff like the door guts are missing. The essential Roadster stuff is there like the windshield frame and the top frame. This car in many ways reminds me of my first Roadster project, one where I had more ambition that money and wanted an open car no matter the up-hill battle ahead. If you are feeling ambitious and have the big spool of welding wire, don't miss what might be your last chance at a Roadster at a decent price.
