In 2016, I wrote to the original owner (#1) who is now 94 years old. I asked about the history of the car while in his possession. I received a nice hand written letter from this owner about the history of the car. I will include this letter with the 912.

The car has always been in the California climateuntil 2002, or heated-climate controlled storage from 2002 to present.

The original color was Bahama yellow-color change to black in 2002 0r 2003.

Engine and transmission numbers match the numbers on the owner's manual and owner registration in the manual.

Body:Zero Rust. No Known Repairs. Bare metal strip color change. Only very minor paintblemishes. No known accidents.Solid floor pan, no known floor pan repairs. Clean rust free trunk areas that areusually prone to rust.All badging on the car is original. The hood crest is original with orange stripes and has markings on back of 901 and letter R in circle.

Interior: Clean interior, front seats refurbished by Classic 9 in 2014. The headliner isundone near the two rear vent windows. The headliner will need to be tucked back in or glued in place.The vinyl is lifting on the top of the dash. Original floor mats.

Engine: I don't believe the engine has ever been disassembled. The top partof theengine has been freshened up.No smoke. Does not burn oil. Drips some oil from return tubes. Easy start.

Glass: All glass is original to the car, including windshield.

Wheels and Tires: Tires in good condition. All wheels have correct date code stamp and are original wheels that came with the car. Wheels re-chromed in 2002. Original tire still mounted on spare wheel.

Mechanical: All systems function and work correctly on the car as theyshouldexcept: The washer pump does not work, The radio does not work and the light under the hood does not work.

Transmission: Original 4 speed, shifts fine. Clutch is good.

Exhaust System: In good condition. The car has heat and the heater system and controls are in working condition.

Suspension and Brakes: Suspension system in good condition. Brakes in good condition with firm pedal.

Misc: Fuel tank drained and carbs reset and synchronized in 2010, and only driven 1000 miles since this service was performed. I have several invoices of work performed which will be given with the car. Car tracks and drives straight when driven and braked. Tight solid feel. No weird noises. Trunk hood shocks need to be replaced as the hood won't stay open. The engine deck lid stays open as the hood shock have been replaced. Clear title in my name. I will also provide original paperwork, sales brochure, two Snap on Calendars. I am keeping the book in the photo.

Comment: This is one heck of a 912. Be prepared to get stareswhen driving. You will also receive attention at the gas station or where ever you drive itas people want to check this car out.
