1986 Porsche 944 TURBO

This is a virtually new 1986 944 Turbo. It has been sorted from top to bottom and restored to better than factory specs. I've been collecting Porsches for the last 20 years. I've decided to focus on early air cooled cars now, so I 'm replacing some of my water cooled Porsches. This car was an 18 month project for my sons and me (both of their first cars were 944's). We stared with a straight clean accident free car and went from the bottom up. All systems were removed and the body was media blasted and given a complete widows-out, trim-off repaint. Then block wet sanded to a concours winning finish. It's won Best in Class at 5 PCA shows in the past 2.5 years. All weather stripping was replaced with factory new. The dash is original and perfect. The headliner and carpet were replaced with factory new. It had vinyl seats which were replaced with factory power leather seats. The cabin carpet is new. The center column has a new leather shift boot and cubby, below a new bluetooth radio for hands-free telephone calls, The visors were replaced with new. Both door stops and cabin light switches were replaced with new. The ashtray and cigarette lighter are new. The complete dash is spotless and all gauges and electronics work properly. Every exterior emblem and trim piece is either new or fine condition. All the glass is original and in great condition including the rear hatch, which is prone to separate from the frame, from faulty factory adhesive. The motor is like jewelry. It was a complete down to raw block rebuild with every available improvement completed. Every gear, bearing, seal, hose, belt, gasket, injector and lifter was replaced as well as the alternator and sending units (and improved where possible). The factory coolant tank that yellows and cracks was replaced with polished aluminum. The 944 Turbos have a chronic problem with over-heating in the rear of the cylinder head which causes system overheating and head gasket failure. We installed the Lindsey pressure release system, which diverts coolant pressure from the cylinder head to the coolant reserve tank. The A/C system is upgraded and every hose line replaced as well as compressor, condenser and evaporator. The water pump and secondary cooling pump for the turbo are new as well as the turbo itself. The transmission is fine and was serviced, the clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing are new and the flywheel resurfaced. The braking system is new with rebuilt calipers, s/s brake lines, new rotors and pads. The front end has new tie rods, ball joints, power steering rack, front belly pan and aluminum scuff plate. All 4 shocks are new and a 4 corner alignment was done at the local Porsche dealer. The factory phone dial wheels are new and so are the Michelin tires. It's been two and a half years since the completion of the restoration and we've only put on 630 miles, to car shows and a few joy rides (odometer reads 155k but it's irrelevant since all systems were replaced and up-dated). It stays in our climate controlled facility, under an indoor cover. This was a labor of love and a fun project for my sons and me. There's an inch-thick pile of receipts that total close to $40,000, but we didn't expect to recoup that when we were restoring it. This car literally needs nothing, but if you've ever owned a Porsche you know, you can always find an excuse to do some "tinkering". Sold "AS-IS" with no warranties. Any questions give me shout. Reasonable offers are always welcomed.
