HISTORY/BACKGROUND:
I've owned three Intermeccanicas prior to this one and as I have been telling people for years, Intermeccanicas are among the best built and most fun cars you can buy! They are extremely well engineered, extremely well built, look great, and are a blast to drive - all at a price that is MUCH lower than what an original 356-D would cost you.............
This one is a lot more fun to drive than my three previous - why? Well, read below re the upgraded engine.
Well, if that is the case, thenwhy tam I selling it? Well, I just turned 72, am thinning out the herd, and just bought two cars - I FINALLY bought a Porsche 912 (been looking for one for years), and also bought a '66 Mustang Fastback that needs some work - so my focus is going to those two cars, and it would be nice to not just make a bit more space in the garage, but also to free up a bit of cash!! So,I find myself offering my truly wonderful little Intermeccanica!
This car was built in and in 1996 and delivered to the buyer in North Carolina, where it was initially registered as a "Specially Constructed" vehicle (per North Carolina DMV requirements). The car then sold to another buyer in North Carolina, who sold it to me - so I am the third owner. Unlike North Carolina, Pennsylvania does not recognize "Specially Constructed" so it is registered here as a replica vehicle. (A copy previous owner's North Carolina title will be provided to purchaser).
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE CAR:
EXTERIOR: THE PAINT ON THIS CAR IS SUPERB - I JUST GOT DONE LOOKING OVER THE WHOLE CAR, ESPECIALLY THE NOSE, AND I CANT FIND ANY CHIPS ANYWHERE! THERE HAS TO BE SOME, AND I EXPECT WHEN THE TRANSPORTER COMES HE WILL FIND A COUPLE, BUT I REALLY CAN'T FIND ANY!
THE CHROME TRIM (HEAD LIGHT RINGS, FRONT VENTS, PARKING LIGHT AND TAIL LIGHT RINGS, SIDE MIRRORS, WHEELS, HUBCAPS, DOOR HANDLES, ETC.), ARE ALL IN REALLY GOOD CONDITION. THE ALUMINUM TRIM - BUMPER OVERRIDERS, WINDSHIELD FRAME, ETC., COULD USE SOME POLISHING. (THIS CAR HAS BEEN STORED ALL WINTER. I USUALLY PULL IT OUT AND SEND IT OUT FOR DETAILING, BUT,,,,,,,,, SINCE I'M SELLING IT I HAVEN'T HAD IT DETAILED. I HAVE DRIVEN IT A BIT THOUGH.
THE CAR IS "CLEAN" - CLEAN OUTSIDE, CLEAN INTERIOR, CLEAN UNDERNEATH, CLEAN ENGINE COMPARTMENT, ETC. A NICE CAR!
INTERIOR: THE SEAT BELTS, CARPET, DOOR HANDLES, DOOR POCKETS, SWITCHES, WINDOW WINDERS, VENTS, STEERING WHEEL, GUAGES, DASH, ETC. ARE ALL IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. THE LEATHER SEATS ARE GENERALLY IN GOOD CONDITION SAVE FOR THE SEAT BOTTOM OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT (I HAVE PROVIDED A PICTURE SHOWING THE LEATHER CRACKS AND A TEAR IN THE SEAT BOTTOM).
DRIVEABILITY: IN MY HUMBLE OPINION - SUPERB! AS I SAID UP TOP, I HAVE OWNED 3 OTHERS OF THESE - ALL WITH THE NORMAL SIZE ENGINE. THIS ONE, WITH THE UPGRADED 2100CC HIGH PERFORMANCE ENGINE IS, AS THEY SAY, "A WHILE DIFFERENT ANIMAL". WELL, LETS NOT GET CARRIED AWAY - NOT EXACTLY AN "ANIMAL" BUT IT DOES SEEM TO DRAMATICALLY CHANGE THE DRIVEABILITY OF THE CAR - PULLS LIKE CRAZY - REALLY RUNS OUT WELL............ YOU SHOULD BE VERY PLEASED.

TITLE CLARIFICATION: Pennsylvania titles all replicas as a reconstructed vehicle - the way I said it above makes it sound like the title will actually read "replica", which Pennsylvania does not have!
