This 1967 Porsche 911 is a stellar example of the first-generation 911. The model year 1967 is considered by many of the early 911 fans as being the ultimate expression of the first series cars. The cars produced in 1967 were the beneficiary of multiple incremental improvements made to the 911 since its initial introduction in 1964. Although the first series 911 was also produced into the final year of 1968, that model year is considered less desirable by Porsche purists due to stringent government regulations that mandated ancillary smog equipment—which adversely affected performance and drivability. Hence, the 1964-67 models best embody the Porsche 911 purity of design. This is a matching-numbers car that directly corresponds to its Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. The mechanical and coachwork condition is exceptional. The rust-free body was taken down to bare metal and resprayed in its original color of Irish Green/6606. Just 8,000 miles ago, refurbishment was performed on all of the major systems of the car. The suspension received new polyurethane bushings and Bilstein shocks on all four corners, the front steering mechanism received new control-arm bearings and Turbo tie-rod ends, the transmission was rebuilt with new synchro's and the clutch was replaced (disc, pressure plate, throw-out bearing and flywheel). The engine is in sound condition and has an SSI stainless-steel header and heat-exchanger unit installed. The SSI system actually exceeds OEM quality and is just one example of the many top-quality parts that were installed on this car. The most recent service took place in 2015—just 1,000 miles ago—for reasons of preventative maintenance and to attend to any and all details in the car. This is an opportunity to own a piece of Porsche history—a matching-numbers and thoroughly restored first-generation 911.
