Description:

1986 Porsche 944 Coupe Turbo

THIS CAR IS A TRACK CAR! IT DOES NOT HAVE A TITLE AND CANNOT BE DRIVEN ON THE PUBLIC ROADWAYS!!
Want to have the coolest car on the track for you next Porsche DE Day? Or, are you ready to move to the next level in PCA or SCCA competition? This is the car for you!!
The 944 was originally prepped by Evolution Motorworks Inc of Naples Fl when it had ~42,800 miles on it. I purchased the car from a PCA instructor who raced it in the mid-2000's and used it as an instruction vehicle after 2010. It was his personal car, for over 10 years, used for PCA events and for instructing new drivers.
The car's last full over-haul was in the 2010/11 time frame. It was dyno'ed at the time and proved to be pushing 300 hp. The list of modifications is extensive. The bulk of the guts of the interior have been removed. A full roll-cage has been and a Sparco seat with 5-point harness. Thesteering column has been replaced with a quick attach steering wheel. Theheadlights have been removed and an air-duct for the turbo has been installed in the left pop-up. The originalPorsche turbo has been replaced with an aftermarket, high performance unit. Drilled after-market brake rotors have been installed.Brake ducts havealso been introduced. An Accusump was added -- as well as an Enduro Racing 12 gal fuel cell. The car was wired for in-car radio transmission and for a cool suit. An after-market engine management system was added. The trim for the windshield was removed and additional security brackets were installed. The struts were replaced with adjustable racing units. The rear deck lid was replaced with a Lexan window. The motor mounts were replaced in 2005 -- and as far as I can tell, that was the only indication of any track-related damage. The front-end was refitted with a plastic/fiberglass nose attached by fast turn-buckles. The hood was also replaced with a fiberglass unit. The side window glass and hardware has been removed. The honey-comb rims were reported to be valued north of $800 a piece. The car had PCA-legal tow hooks installed in both the front and the back (along with the down-force wing). Custom oil pressure warning lights and gauges were installed. In 2016, I had a full race preparation performed and tracked it a few times locally -- including installing a new battery and having brake work performed. I had it weighed last spring and it was below the 2,750 SP2 requirements. However, any potential buyer should plan on having the car weighed themselves for validation. The paint and body work are not perfect, but would rate a ~8 on a 10 point scale.
Eye surgery (restricting my ability to acquire a PCA license) and a shift in family priorities is prompting the sale. The car is very fast and a ton of fun!
The Buyer is responsible for picking up the car in Omaha, NE or for any shipping fees. With the pre-receipt of a cashiers check for the purchase price -- net of the PayPal deposit -- I will assist a transport company with the loading of the vehicle for shipment.
Disclosure and buying considerations:
* The car has a main bearing oil leak which should be addressed at some point -- not bad but noticeableon the shop floor* Reverse is tough to maintain -- requiring linkage adjustment. Forward gearing is not affected.* The car is cold starting* The seat position is comfortable for a 5' 10" driver, but will need to be re-positionedfor anyone taller* Hoosier slicks are on it now, but have probably had enough heat cycles to warrant replacement for competitive driving
