1970 Porsche 914

I am selling my 914/6 with a heavy heart. It has been 4 years since I bought it in Oregon where it had spent its entire life. It was a race car and kept in a garage for at least its last 30+ years. I bought it and converted it to street use where it has been for almost 5 years. It is a numbers matching car, engine number matches certificate of authenticity. It has been used occasionally over the last 4 years but I have since bought another car and something has to go - my wife says so!
It is a Porsche 914/6 with the following. I took it all apart and put it back together again. Both the front, mid section and rear compartment had been disassembled. They were painted with a black undercoating material that I took all off and repainted the original orange. It has been restored to original condition, as much as I am able to know. The entire interior seats and backing material was replaced with a used set bought at Hershey. All the rubber, carpets and other parts were replaced with that available at 914Rubber. Dash was redone with 914Rubber material. The front end had an external oil cooler which I removed and replaced the original pan purchased from Restoration Design. The transmission had the last 2 gears much lower than I would like and were removed and replaced with those of stock ratios at a Dr. Evil event. It was in good condition so I did not do anything else to it. It shifts great. The instruments were sent to No. Hollywood Speedo for refurbishment. The numbers matching engine was rebuilt with 86 mm cylinders and pistons about 9.5 compression ratio. It had 85 mm pistons and cylinders but they were replaced. The engine case was sent to Ollie's in AZ for where it was align bored back to normal, R&R oil plugs, plus some other work. I also have the original 14" Fuchs wheels, the original air cleaner, padded steering wheel and the black fiberglass engine cover. I am probably missing some receipts but you get the idea that I did a pretty good job of restoring it to original condition. The car's paint has been redone at some point but could use a respray. The car is a kick to drive around and it has plenty of power when wanted. I hate to give it up but something has to go. Good luck with the raffle.
