I am a meticulous German car enthusiast who had searched for months looking for the best Porsche 928 that I could find across the entire United States. After looking every single day, I luckily came across this car in Canada. I quickly jumped on the opportunity as I know that the good cars never last long. I had missed out on a few already and was not going to miss this one. I flew up to Montreal Canada and drove the car back the next week. It completed the 400 mile trip without a single issue.
This car is a perfect daily driver quality car. Mechanically, it is very good. Cosmetics are good, it would be considered a "10ft car" without question. The exterior has had a lower quality black plaint respray in its past that is starting to show its age. I just had the car professionally Plastidipped in Pearl Blue. It looks pretty good, but shows flaws from the underlying paint defects of from the previous repaint. The plastidip can be easily peeled off within an hour to go back to a gloss black car. Brand new Victor Le Mans wheels are installed with brand new Hankook tires. OEM chrome slots are included with the car.
The interior is very good. The front seats could use new skins. The dash has a few small cracks, but no structural deformities. The pod and console are both perfect. Rear seats are great as well. A new set of Lloyd mats were purchased by the previous owner. I've only put 450 miles on the car sine I bought it in October. The odometer was replaced with a new one showing a little over 4k miles. The previous owners states around 60,000 miles. The Canadian CarFax seems to support this, though it shows as 95,000. He claims this is in kilometers. I titled the car in Pennsylvania stating 64,000 miles. AC does not work. Leaves a quarter sized spot of oil when parked. Has a random starter engagement issues that require a few turns of the key to start. Has never not started.
I am selling this car as it is the odd man out in my current project list. My 1995 Range Rover Classic and a 1972 Mercedes 6.3 are going to be my focus for the foreseeable future, so I won't be able to get to this car anytime soon. With that said, I have no need to sell it, so please be considerate in your offers.
The timing belt was done less than 500 miles ago. Even though these early 16V cars are non-interference engines, it is good to have the piece of mind of knowing that major job has been done.
