1971 Porsche 914

This 914 was built 12/1970, imported to the US directly from Germany to Texas in the early 80’s and was only recently moved to the Midwest. This is a European model and not a standard US spec car.

I’ve owned numerous Porsches over the years and this is one of the most solid, totally original early 914’s I’ve ever seen. Original paint with no signs of damage or repair. The interior is near perfect with only one small cut in the center bolster about ½’ long (see photos). Vinyl is soft and pliable, dash is perfect and door cards are uncut. Even has the original radio which does work, and the little light between the seats works. Photos speak for themselves so please look closely. When I acquired it several months ago, it had been in storage for years and not in running cond. I replaced the fuel tank and all of the fuel lines, replaced the fuel pump, injector hoses and seals, put in a new clutch, pressure plate and bearing as well as had the flywheel lighted. All fluids were changed and a tune up performed. It now starts instantly with the turn of the key, idles well and runs strong. It shifts good for a tail shift with no grinding or strange noises. Brakes work good but pads will need replacing before too long. This car still does need some tweaking due to its extended time in storage but it is a running driving 914. The muffler is very nice but the heat exchangers are rusty and do have that typical oily smell. The body, although very solid, does have a lot of small dents and imperfections, mainly on the sides of the car. Also the rear trunk has a sizeable dent (see photo)

With a little bit of paint and mechanicals this 914 would be exceptional. It has one of the nicest interiors and rust free trunks I’ve seen and is complete with original spare wheel, jack and battery cover. This car hasunder 100,000 original miles.
