Pleasanton, CA 925-846-1451 DETAILS - "THIS 1986 PORSCHE 911 CARRERA CABRIOLET In 1965 Porsche began the 911 model line that has become an icon among sports cars. This 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet represents a limited owner, very well cared for example of the highly sought after 3.2.liter Carrera's that were manufactured from 1984 until 1989. The Porsche was originally sold in Northern California spending in our immediate area. Maintenance has been performed by Porsche technicians and is supported by maintenance documentation. The 911 was recently seen by a Porsche specialist who performed a variety of service including new fuel injectors, a complete oil / lubrication service, and a comprehensive inspection to ensure that the car was in excellent mechanical condition. The cars history is supported by a totally clean CarFax report showing no accidents or other issues. This desirable 1986 Carrera "Cab” was recently acquired from its second and long term California owner of 20~ years. After several serious medical "realities” (including two hip replacements), the owner decided to sell their "Baby” since driving the car became increasingly difficult for the owner to drive. While the "Cab” was stored for several years, it was used occasionally and always kept safely in the garage under a Porsche car cover. Within the past 6 months, the car was fully serviced by a Porsche specialist who went through the car to ensure that it was in prime operating condition. Additional details regarding the maintenance that has been performed are outlined later in this description. Of course, the Carrera has a clear, transferable California title. The current odometer reading is 114,236 miles is supported by the maintenance history and the CarFax report. Our inspection and that of an independent source indicates that the car is free from previous or current body, undercarriage or underside damage and retains its original body panels. The options code under the hood is an indication of the originality as are other factory VIN panel tags. The car shows extremely well as a result of its long limited exposure to the elements with beautiful high gloss, paint and trim. This Porsche has been used occasionally, but driven less frequently by the elderly owner during the last several years as its low mileage suggests. In fact, since 1991, the Carfax report documents that the Porsche has only traveled a total of just over 50,000 miles or an average of 2,100 miles per year during the last 23 years. Frankly, the overall excellent condition of the car is more representative of a car with half of the total mileage and a car that is only several years old…it is simply a lovely, well maintained, original Carrera Cabriolet.. HISTORY AND MAINTENANCE This car originally sold in Northern California, owned by original owner who resided in Sacramento and the S.F. Bay area. The cars most recent and second owner also lived on the "Peninsula”, so the Porsche has spent its entire life in sunny, dry, Northern California. The car has never been modified, and with the exception of the required ongoing maintenance, remains in its original configuration. Refreshingly, this Carrera has the original Fuchs wheels, all of the correct badging, the stock steering wheel, and all of the correct instrumentation. With the exception of a significantly improved, high quality sound system, the car is as it would have been when it was sold in 1986.
