The Porsche 911 Turbo needs little introduction, both as ‘the’ iconic post war sports car or, recently, as an investment grade collectible. Values have doubled or tripled in the last few years as the market has finally woken up to this cars status among all car enthusiasts who remember the monumental impact it made in the 1970’s and 1980’s.

This particular is a Canadian Market Car, always in Western Canada. It was #79 of 89 Canadian spec cars built in 1982. 1,027 930’s were produced worldwide that year, which was one of the least voluminous years for 930 production. No 930’s were sold into the US from 1980-1985, although many made their way there through grey market importation. Canadian market cars were rated at the full 300hp as were the European models.

It was ordered in a Paint-to-Sample Metallic Beige, with a dark Brown and Beige leather interior. Key options include the Sunroof, Sports Seats and Limited Slip Differential.

Normally 930’s were magnets for modification and personalization, and there are not many cars out there that are completely original. At minimum most cars have some or all of the following: an aftermarket stereo, speakers, alarm (which always drains the battery), wheels and wastegate (increasing the boost) and/or a larger intercooler and Turbocharger. This car has none of this. It is completely stock, even the rear parcel shelf is virgin.

We have maintenance history on this car from the year 2000 with 60,000km on it. It is unremarkable with the usual oil and brake fluid changes, A/C issues etc. In the last few years the car was called for numerous oil leaks.

It was in a front end collision in 2011, and the repair bill was $c20,000. A thorough inspection of the affected area reveals a professional job, and the shut lines and panel fit are still within factory tolerances. Re-assembled and painted there is no indication whatsoever that the car was ever in a collision.

Porsche Centre Calgary purchased the car in August 2015, and have given the car a cosmetic restoration and mechanical refresh at a total cost of over $c30,000. The engine-out mechanical service came to just over $10,000. The glass-out, bumpers/bonnet/engine cover off respray was $17,000. Re-stitching the steering wheel, and repairing the piping and bolster on the drivers seat was $2,500 etc. etc.

The shop bill from Porsche Centre Calgary shows a 96,000km service with valve adjustment, R&R of the engine and gearbox and the replacements of numerous seals and hoses. The Crankcase and cylinder barrels were OK and were not disassembled.

This vehicle comes with the original spare tire, tool roll and books.

In summary, this is what I would describe as an honest driver that has been cosmetically and mechanically refreshed-it looks fantastic in its one-off colour, and drives beautifully.

US Buyers:

We can have the car imported with Duty, Customs and Brokerage paid, and delivered to most addresses in the continental US for under $10,000. This car is over 25 years old, so there are no compliance issues.

Canadian Buyers:

Canadian Residents are subject to Canadian Sales Tax added to the Auction Price.

Porsche Centre Calgary is a Porsche Dealer operating out of Calgary, Alberta Canada. We are approximately 600miles East of Vancouver, and about the same distance from Spokane, WA. We have recently set up an eBay Account, mostly in response to the low Canadian Dollar, which enables us to sell the cars for a lower $US amount. While the Porsche Centre Calgary ebay account is new, I have been active on eBay for 15 years under the username of MercsandRovers. Also I have a Youtube channel under LawrenceR, and a Google search will reveal a significant amount of automotive related content under Lawrence Romanosky. I am the General Sales Manager of Porsche Centre Calgary, and write the descriptions of the cars.
