Description:

1980 Pontiac Firebird N.C.E Convertible

In 1978 to 1981 GM was not making convertibles. But If you desired one you could order the N.C.E option at your local dealer. Adding $8000 to the dealer invoice.Which meant that your newly ordered Firebird or Camaro was sent to National Coach Engineering LTD.Directly from the assembly plant.Where the engineers have designed a conversion for these cars. This is the same process if you ordered a Yenko.
Its believed, ut not confirmed that NCE converted 250 Firebirds in 1979. We have no production number information for the other years yet. Total production is rumored to number around 500 from 1979 to 1981.
This car is NCE #5 in 1980The car was purchased new at Enerson Motors Lethbridge Alberta. And resold in 1982But remained in Lethbridge with the second owner until I pourchased it from a ederly Lady in 2015The reason for selling the car was no one had driven it in several years and none of her daughters had any interest in the old car.
The car is untouched and is as it was when it rolled off the showroom floor.A real surviverOriginal paint is in good overall condition with your typical scuffs and door dings you would find on a car of this age. There is surface rust on the rear quarters NO HOLES ! (Second owner lived on a gravel road.)Interior looks very nice there is a crack on the dashpad passenger side . Even the clock on the dash works perfectlyAc not working may only need a recharge. Convertible top in excellent condition.I'm probably describing it worse than what it is so please refer to the photographs. The car now runs and drives beautifully and is a pleasure to drive and gets thumbs up wherever I go.New parts I installedBatteryAlternater4 Tires4 shocks (It still had the originals)Recore the radiaterIgnition switch
