1970 Pontiac GTO
Genuine PHS documented 1970 Pontiac GTO with 2 factory original build sheets. Original numbers matching 400-350 HP engine. The car left the factory Granada Gold with a Sandalwood top and Saddle interior. During an extensive and spectacular restoration in the early 2000’s it had a high quality re-spray in Polar White and fitted with a complete black deluxe interior. Judge graphics, rear spoiler and several factory options were added during the restoration and the original automatic transmission yielded to a Tremec TKO 5 speed. No shortcuts. Previous owner had engine rebuilt with mild performance camshaft that gives a bumpy idle but without compromises. Coupled with the 3.23 posi rear end, the overdrive transmission makes highway cruising a breeze. The paint remains remarkable, the interior looks like new and the overall presentation is simply stunning. Equipped with functional ram air hood, rare hood mounted tachometer, the factory a/c blows ice cold and has been converted to 134a. The list goes on with power steering and brakes, power windows and door locks, power trunk release, rear window defogger and tilt steering.
After several years in a collection, the current owner changed all fluids and filters, replaced the power steering box and pump, added Holley Retrobright headlights, new Holley carburetor, fuel pump, rear brakes, 4 tires and a b22attery, Finally a Retrosound audio system was added with Bluetooth functionality.
This car runs and drives exceptionally well. No expense was spared by the previous owner transforming a pedestrian gold GTO into a stunning example equipped with virtually every available option. The current owner has followed suit, going through everything to insure this car could be reliably driven cross country, tomorrow. There is no rust, anywhere. The bottom is every bit as nice as the top.
Known flaws: clock does not work, paint chip on top of passenger side front fender, hairline flaw in nose, drivers seat cover is separating along one seam. See pictures Actual mileage unknown
