I purchase this car here on ebay back in December of 2013. My intention was to fully restore it. The person I bought it from said it only had 88000 miles on it and I actually believe it did. For a car of this type that was driven quite a bit to roll the odometer the hinges would have failed and the door armrests would have broken. Both are in good shape and do not need replacing. Once I received the car and I began the arduous processing of making it useful I decided to just go ahead and go through it and make it a drive able fun car since I did not have the ability to put a paint job on it. I came to me covered in red dirt, inside and out, like someone left the windows down and drove down a red dirt rod in East Texas. It was in a real mess and required a lot of cleaning, inside and out. Someone also put a crappy paint job on with a cheap paint which looks terrible and is cracking. Some cracked paint areas are beginning to bleed surface rust.The car was stripped down and gutted on the inside. Surprisingly the seats were in great condition and just needed cleaning, they have degraded some since. The engine and transmission were removed in preparation for a good overhauled engine and transmission other TA that was hit on the street. The engine was scrapped and the transmission that came with the car sold. When cleaning the interior and upon removal of the door panels I found no rust inside of the door at the bottoms at the time which was rare for these cars. It did have rust on it and in those spots have grown since then. I have taken pictures of all those areas but am limited to how many I can post in all so I posted the major areas. The car for sure will need a new hood and deck lid, the rest of the rusted area should be able to be repaired. The underside shows no signs of rust through of the sheet metal components and only shows signs of surface rust..Below is a list of parts and services outlined in a table that has been installed on or done to the car since in my possession. In one of the photos you see a stack of receipts. The information listed below come from those receipts and from my Quicken Financial computer program. Items in red I do not have a receipt for. Receipts pictured will accompany the car.A brief rundown of the parts and services done in 2014 are engine overhaul, transmission overhaul, new parts throughout including windshield, carpet, mats, headliner (it has begun to sag in one spot), rear speakers, new spare tire (the jack set is there also), mufflers, heater core, condenser, evaporator, a/c compressor (currently not working, R-22 Freon leak), battery. alternator, water pump, brake booster, master cylinder, etc. Please see below for more specifics. Within the last month or so I made sure the car is road ready with a flushed radiator and fresh coolant, fresh engine oil with a GM PF62 filter and fresh transmission fluid with a new filter. Differential oil was replaced in 2014 along with U-joints and a new pinion seal.This car runs and is drive able. It does not need any work to be street worthy to pass inspection, everything works. It does have a small water leak to the interior on the driver side due to lack of seam sealer which was common on this body style. My other TA had the same issue that was solved by sealing by hand through the openings below the windshield along the joints inside between the firewall. It also now has begun leaking into the trunk but the trunk pan shows no signs of rust. The engine rear main seal has a small oil leak. As stated above the car essentially now has only 7280 miles on it since the mechanical rebuild and parts replacement. It could use a tune up and possible carb overhaul due to my lack of driving it over the past ten years. It has begun backfiring some when putting the pedal to the metal. The engine has a performance cam. The car DOES need work if you are interested in bringing the beauty of the F-Body style back to reality. I am hoping someone with ambition can save this car before rust becomes a real issue.Please note that the buyer is responsible for arranging shipping to receive the car.
