1969 Pontiac Trans Am

Ok before I get started I need to address all the problem child Ebay members out there. If you've ever sold on Ebay or dealt with any of them on other websites you know the type. Insecure, jealous, opinionated haters that would bitch if they crapped diamonds. Oooh they hurt coming out. No knowledge but all kinds of opinions. Well I've heard them all so to those people I say just move on. If you still want to message me you will just get a free ride to my blocked bidder list. I know...I know you'd never buy from me any way. Speaking of that there are plenty of people on it and all deserving to be there. I treat everyone with a great deal of respect and only expect half that from others. Honesty and integrity have been pushed to the side by money for a lot of people. I quit listing cars on Ebay in auction form because of the rediculous amount of people with 5-10 Ebay accounts that bid and then ghost you afterwards. Of course nothing is done about it. Anyway I will give you advanced notice that the blocked bidders and haters are going to try to ruin this auction on the Pontiac websites. Another thing I don't understand is the people who run the sites let it happen. Oh well. So what the haters try to do first is say the car has been rebodied or the firewall has been changed. The first thing you hear is always true right? Well I've owned this car over 20 years and it has it's original from the factory body and firewall. The secret VIN numbers are there. You can see the original stripes still visable on the top, cowl panel, rear window panel and tail panel. I also have the original trunk lid which has them too but it was rusty. I have shown all kinds of pictures showing proof on all parts of the car. But maybe I cut a complete roof, top, tail panel, quarters floors, etc, etc off a real 69 TA and welded them onto this car, painted it all black and then stripped it again. Lol!!! It's rediculous what people believe from the haters. One more thing is that this car is one of the rare 69 TA's that had the space saver spares. You can see in the trunk pictures where the factory moved the bracket from the floor up into the upper right corner. But maybe I found a car with a space saver spare and welded it in right haters? The story I got on the car when I bought it was that a previous owner kept getting tickets because the car was so easy to identify. The owner got mad and went home and painted the car black with a paint brush. He said he never got another ticket after that. If you still don't believe me then I bet you think Elvis is still alive in Vegas! Now for the believers I think I can move on to describing what has all been done to this car and almost all by me personally. I apologize for having to go to this extent on explaining this but it's the world we sellers live in on Ebay.
The work I've done to this car would cost more to have done than what I'm asking for it. The front bumper assembly parts and radiator support were all blasted and powder coated. New 4 core radiator and all correct hoses. Included but not pictured is a NOS valance panel with mint park light fillers and nice parking lamp assemblies. The whole front suspension was redone with bushings, ball joints, springs, bearings, etc, etc. Brakes were all redone with new pads, rotors, hoses, etc, etc. The alternator has been rebuilt,PS pump rebuilt and the PS gear has been rebuilt. I did not start to restore this car to be a 100 point show car. I wanted to do it as a local show car and driver. That being said you will see things that are not 100% ISCA correct but can also be easily corrected.
The original block was gone when I purchased the car but it had the original heads, exhaust manifolds, intake and distributor. I found a correct part number and date coded WQ on Ebay over 15 years ago. It has no VIN number on it anywhere. I completely rebuilt this engine. It has been bored .030 and forged pistons. The rotating assembly was balance and I personally checked every clearance to make sure it was within specs. Heads were completely rebuilt by our local machine shop. New cam, lifters, oil pump, water pump, fuel pump, etc, etc. I have already started the engine and the cam has been broke-in. All adjustments made and idles perfect. The original carburetor was gone when I purchased it so I installed an NOS service replacement. The original manifolds were surfaced and spayed with Bill Hirsch exhaust paint. I purchased an entire Gardner exhaust system with the additional cost show kit which I believe was around 1800.00 in itself. Gas tank, sender, lines and straps are all new stainless. Brakes lines are all new stainless as well with all the correct clips and brackets. Clutch, pressure plate, pilot bearing and throw out bearing all new and flywheel surfaced. Starter is rebuilt and new engine harness with spring ring cables. The car has the original 4 speed it was delivered from the factory with. However it is what is called a factory double stamp. Here is where the people who know nothing try to make something out of nothing. Any expert knows about engines and transmissions that are called double stamps. When a car is started before going out of the factory and there is a problem it was sent to the repair facility. The problem with a part it is replaced and sent back out. The defective part i.e. transmission is repaired, restamped and sent out in another car. This is one of those transmissions 100%. When I got the car it had the 50 years of grease on the trans and you couldn't even see the VIN on it. I do not restamp parts and never have but if a person was going to why do it over another number. But I'm sure the haters would say that's the genius of it right? Anyway I completely went through the transmission too. New bearings, sychros, seals, bushings, gaskets and original restored bolts. The original shifter was sent to Hurst and rebuilt with all linkage being replated. The original drive shaft was restored with new CV joints. The original 355 HD Posi was treated to the same process as everything else with new Eaton springs built to factory specs. The wheels on the car are not included. However I have a set of (4) 14x7 Rally II's that are included along with an NOS space saver spare rim. The wheels have all been blasted and painted/ready to install. Also included is a NOS rear tail panel. The spoiler is the original GM as delivered. There are no fenders, fender extractors, hood or Ram Air system included. I do have all the plastic headlight panels and rubbers along with many other small parts. I have a set of NOS rear quarters in another auction. Just so you know...I'm not just some wrench throwing things together. I've been an auto tech for 45 years and have run my own shop for 41 years. I've also owned over 250 GTO's, TA's and Pontiac's since 1973. I've personally owned over a dozen 1969 TA's over the years so I know them well.
I'm sure there are some who are asking why not finish it? Well I do not like to give up on a restoration and so far I've finished every car I started on. I'm selling it because I've had 6 knee surgeries, have a bad back and many other physical restraints that have seriously slowed me down. All from being a mechanic of course. I am trying to finish a 69 Judge I've been working on for 3 years and that's it. I only started on this untill my body man got to the Judge. It is his last restoration too and I'm not going to look for someone else to do this car.
This car has great floorboards/trunk floor and rear window/package tray metal area is great too. I have all the original interior except the carpet, rear package tray, rear view mirror, seat belts and one kick panel. I also have all the glass except the windshield.
I have the PHS and the original window sticker for this car which is extremely rare for a 1969 TA. It is not a reproduction it is the original window sticker the car left the factory with. Also this is a very late production 1969 Trans Am.

I am certain I have forgotten something and will update as soon as I think of it. I know literally ever inch of this car. That's how well I have looked it over and restored or repaired it. I completely welcome any interested buyer or any inspector to look this car over. I have a clear title in my name and it has been registered since I've owned it. The buyer agrees to pay in cash or wire transfer. I will take a bank or certified check but will wait at least 2 weeks for it to clear. Anybody tells you that a bank or certified check can't be stopped does not know the facts. I do because it has happened to me. I have been on Ebay for 23 years and you only need to look at my feedbacks to see who I am. A hard working honest American!
